Battle it out with Infinity Deathmatch: TAG Raid

Infinity Deathmatch: TAG Raid

Infinity Deathmatch: TAG Raid is a brand new game from Corvus Belli set in the world of Infinity. Currently funding on Kickstarter, the game includes 4 game modes putting replayability front and center.

Casual game: deathmatch in its purest form

The casual game is the basic game mode. It consists of an all against all in which you will have to choose your TAG and be the first to get 15 neomaterials (Teseum or Bezoar) to win.

You will have to face other TAGs, but the game takes place in a hostile environment, where fearsome Megabeasts are lurking.

Surviving them will be a real challenge. Death is guaranteed, but don’t be afraid, dying is only transitory: in the same turn you die, you will appear at another zone from the board (it will be determined by a die).

Hybrid mode: the prospecting crew arrives

Within the base rules, there are several game modes that use the different elements of TAG Raid to completely change a match.

For example, you can focus our attention on the TAG’s action, forget the MegaBeast, and play out the more ‘classic’ Infinity Deathmatch experience.

But if simply playing with TAGs is just not enough for you, you can include a prospecting team to support your TAG. You could use the help of a Prospector, Engineer, or a Remote when extracting Neomaterials.

Campaign mode: the black market takes over the board

If you want to put some order into your life and do away with casual and unconnected matches, then the narrative experience of the campaigns is for you!

As the campaign unfolds, you’ll feel the adrenaline and the danger of a prospector’s daily life.

In each chapter, you and your team will have to complete your corporation’s various assignments as they struggle to get their hands on as much Teseum as possible while trying to survive the other miners’ short temper or the attacks of the lurking MegaBeasts.

Throughout a campaign, any Neomaterial you collect can be sold in exchange for Oceanas. You can then invest all that money into the Black Market to improve your survey team and TAG.

This place of dubious reputation will not only offer you a catalog of new tools but allow you to invest in industrial espionage and emulate the unique capabilities of enemy TAGs. You will also be able to upgrade your TAG with its growth tree.

Within this campaign tree, you will be able to choose which branch to improve. For Example, if you focus on a military branch, you may suffer some attribute penalties in return for improved ranged combat. Or you could advance through a Logistic branch to have more improvement slots available.

So, if you want to stand out from the rest of the corporations, the Black Market is the place to go… Of course, prepare your oceanas.

If this is still not enough for you, every campaign will have you face a different MegaBeast!

N4 Mode: Factions War Comes to TAG Raid

In this mode, you can replace your Mining TAG with one of the well-known N4 TAGs. If that’s not enough, you will also be able to replace your prospecting crew… with more TAGs!

Forget the prospecting team as you know it. It’s time to turn up the brutality level to the MAX.

With a total of 13 TAGs to choose from, each player will be able to select up to three TAGs, no matter which faction they belong to, to form their scouting squad. So, if you want your team to consist of a Cutter, an Anaconda, and a Zeta, you’ll be able to do just that. Top that Silvester Stallone!

TAGs are willing to breathe Kurhland’s dust and risk scratching their armor with a tactical rock in exchange for a good amount of Neomaterials. It doesn’t matter if it’s with a drill, instead of a Machine Gun, they will do it with the same style and lethality as they would with any of their regulation weapons. Because in TAG Raid, the only law is the law of the strongest.

Speaking of the strongest, another significant difference in this mode are the TAG profiles.

Unlike mining TAGs, the attributes of the N4 TAGs are different from each other, capturing the essence of their Infinity counterpart. This difference will mean that players will no longer start from the same positions, so think carefully about whom you want to team up with.
