Fantasy Flight Games and Richard Garfield Announce a New Card Game KeyForge

As Gen Con kicks off, Fantasy Flight Games has announced a new game from the mind of Richard Garfield, the man behind Magic: The Gathering, KeyForge.

The game is described as one where “every deck is unique.”

It takes place in the world of Crucible, an artificial world built from pieces of planets from across teh stars. Archons clash in struggles leading their faction as they seek to gain power and knowledge.

KeyForge: Call of the Archons is the world’s first Unique Deck Game. Every deck is one-of-a kind with an Archon and mixture of cards. In the first set, Call of the Archons, there are more than 104,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 possible decks!

Each deck has a full experience with a deck that cannot be altered and ready to play ouf of the box. This forces you to really learn your deck and its combinations.

Within each of your Archon Decks in KeyForge: Call of the Archons, you will find creatures from three of the Crucible’s seven great Houses, each with a unique culture, history, and skill set that makes them exceptional.

There’s the:

Brobnar – brawlers
Mars – ray guns and flying saucers
Sanctum – angels
Logos – scientific experimentation
Dis – demons who steal souls
Shadows – rouges and thieves who steal
Untamed – reject civilization and live in nature

The game will also have a companion app to see how your deck fits into the community and where you can see the meta at large.

The game will launch in the fourth quarter of 2018 and ready for pre-order.
