Games Workshop Reveals its 2021 Warhammer 40,000 Road Map

With two new codexes out this week, Games Workshop has revealed and teased what’s coming and when for the rest of the year for Warhammer 40,000.

Warhammer 40K Codex release schedule

This weekend players will be able to get Codex: Grey Knights and Codex: Thousand Sons. In September, Codex: Orks will officially be released. The Codex was already released as a limited edition version in the Beast Snaggas Army Set. We can expect September and October to be filled with the numerous Ork releases teased already.

Codex: Black Templars is a new reveal with a concrete time frame. The army has been teased but the exact release hasn’t. A new Emperor’s Champion has already been revealed but more reinforcements have been promised.

December sees the release of two Codexes, one for xenos and one for Imperial armies. Covers have been shown and would tease a possible Adeptus Custodes update and the other seems to be Genestealer Cults or Tyranids. The latter makes the most sense as they’re the force battling Orks in the next battle sector. What’s your guess as to what the two are?

Warhammer 40K Codex tease

Beyond Codex: Thousand Sons and Codex: Death Guard, Chaos has been generally lacking in updates. Games Workshop has said that 2022 will be packed with the traitor legions. We’ll likely start to see teases later this year.
