Games Workshop Reveals Warhammer 40,000 Indomitus, the 9th Edition Box Set
Games Workshop has revealed the contents for the 9th edition box set of Warhammer 40,0000, “Indomitus.”
The storyline for the box is the Space Marines are the spearhead force of Battle Group Kallides. They’ve been tasked by Roboute Guilliman to push into a region known as Pariah Nexus. They’ve been armed to hold back enemies but also reclaim Imperial worlds lost to the emergence of the Great Rift.
Amazingly, all the figures below are push fit… there’s no need for glue!
GW has said that the box set will save you over 50% getting the contents spearately and it features 61 push-fit miniatures in total plus the books, guides, and more.
This is a special launch box to celebrate the new edition so it won’t be around forever.

The Primaris Captain is armed for close combat. There’s lots of small details on the figure like the helmet visor option that plays into the knightly look of the figure. Along with a power sword, the Primaris Captain also features a relic shield.
The Primaris Lieutenant is armed with a master-crafted power sword and storm shield and you can see the neo-volkite pistol.
Primaris Chaplain features a crozius arcanum where he’ll help the close combat melee.
The Judiciar is a new unit for Space Marines. The swordsman will cut foes down with its relic blade but he has an all-new item of esoteric wargear – the tempormortis.
A trio of Bladeguard Veterans come in the box and are there to hold the line with their master-crafted power swords, storm shields and heavy bolt pistols.
The Bladeguard Ancient is a battle standard that continues the line of this type of army unit.
Eradicators take on armored threats with their melta rifles!
Assault Intercessor Squad
The Assault Intercessor Squad is the much wanted close combat unit featuring chainswords and heavy bolt pistols. It’s all about short-range combat and melee!
The Outriders feature paired bolt rifles in the front but the riders have heavy bolt pistols and Astartes chainswords.
The Primaris Marines will be going up against Necrons, the other have of the Indomitus boxed set! There’s lots of new units here as well making it an exciting box set for long time players!
The Necron Overlord features a brand new weapon, the hyperphase glaive and a tachyon arrow. They’ll be leading the Necron forces in this box set.
The Royal Warden is tough as nails and armed with a relic gauss blaster.
Plasmancer’s are a class of Cryptek known as Harbingers of Destruction. They’re a master in the art of weaponising technology bearing a plasmic lance good for melee and firefights.
They may seem like bodyguards but Cryptothralls work well with the Plasmancer serving as sword and shield.
The Skorpekh Lord is death incrante. This destroyer can deal damage from its enmitic annihilator at range, attack with its hyperphase harvester, or attack with is flensing claw.
The Skorpekh Destroyers run into combat to take out their pray instead of combat from a distance. Their twin blades are called hyperphase threshers and the two-handed version is called the hyperphase reap-blade.
The Plasmacyte works with Destroyers with infuse them with tainted energy making them an even more dangerous unit.
Canoptek Reanimator is long-limed support that keeps your machine legions in the fight. It has an atomiser beam lance to disintigrate all that get in its way.
Canoptek Scarab Swarms
Not deadly individually, the Canoptek Scarab Swarms can overwhelm the enemy.
Necron Warriors feature gauss flayers or gauss reapers, they’re the main force of Necron armies. The box set features twenty of these new models.
The Warhmmer 40,000 Core Book (Indomitus Edition)
The box set rulebook features an alternate cover. It has both lore and all the rules you need to play your first game.
It not only features the basic rules but also advance rules, missions to do battle in open play, narrative, and matched play. That includes games of Combat Patrol, Incursion, Strike Force, and Onslaught! There’s also the new Crusade campaign system.
The Edge of Silence
The Edge of Silence is filled with datasheets and all of the lore around the Indomitus box set. It sets the narrative stage in which you can start to do battle.
Assembly Guide and Transfers
The box set comes with a guide to put your forces together as well as waterslide decals to decorae them as well. You can choose from Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, and Ultramarines. Enough for each faction to finish all of the Space Marines in the box.
