Gen Con Releases 2016 Badge and Hotel Information

Gen ConGen Con already has some exciting plans on track for 2016, including expansion into Lucas Oil Stadium and the announcement of an all-new show Co-Sponsor, Rio Grande Games. Expect to hear more exciting news in the coming weeks and months, including the announcement of new events, sponsors, and the Official Charity of 2016. The Gen Con team is planning for another record year and hopes to keep increasing the spectacle and fun of the show.

Badge Pre-Registration will begin on January 22 at noon (Eastern) with Hotel Registration starting two days later at noon (Eastern) on Sunday, January 24.  Gen Con will again randomize each customer’s access to the Gen Con Housing Portal to book hotel rooms. After extensive research and review of attendee housing survey results, we have considered many alternative systems for housing registration and have determined the best course of action is to fix the technical issues some customers experienced with the randomized access system introduced last year.

The Gen Con team is working to secure as many discounted hotel rooms as possible, but demand for downtown rooms vastly outstrips supply while suburban hotel rooms are typically available throughout the convention. Additionally, the lower prices of suburban hotels have made them a more attractive lodging option for many attendees.

Gen Con 2016 badge prices will be the following:

4-Day Badge: Pre-Registration price $90, Registration price $120
Single Day Badges (Thursday, Friday, Saturday): Pre-Registration price $55, Registration price $75
Family Fun Day (Sunday) Badge Prices: $45 during Pre-Registration and Registration for a family of up to four people
Trade Day Badges (Wednesday through Sunday): $120 during Pre-Registration, $155 during Registration while supplies last. Valid trade credentials are required to attend.

Pre-Registration will close on June 19, 2016 at 11:59 pm (Eastern).

You’ll notice that Pre-Registration prices will not increase at the same rate that Registration prices have. Gen Con has discounted Pre-Registration prices to help encourage earlier commitment, which will help the organization plan attendance and activities for the 2016 show as early as possible.
