Mario Kart Throws a Blue Shell at Monopoly Gamer

Hasbro has a new twist to their Monopoly Gamer with a brand new Mario Kart theme building off of laster year’s hit Monopoly Gamer featuring Mario.

Available now at GameStop and other retailers in June, Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart still has the core Monopoly game at its heart but with some twists.

The game features coins instead of bills and after every time a player passes Go!, they flip a Grand Prix cad which starts a race. Players then can pay coins to enter the race and you roll to see who places where and what prizes they win such as collecting more coins or getting properties.

During your turn, players also roll a Power-Up die along with their move. A Green Shell causes the player in front of you to drop three coins which other players can pick up.

The game ends when the Grand Prix card is drawn which indicates the last race is run. Players total up their points from winning races, buying properties, and collecting coins.

The base game comes with Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad with each hving their own power-up. You can also buy six more power packs, aka new tokens, each with their own power including Bowser, Rosalina, Shy Guy, Metal Mario, Donkey King, and Yoshi.
