With the reveal of the Warhammer 40,000 10th edition box set details, Games Workshop also revealed the initial timeline of releases for Warhammer 40,000. With each codex release, it was mentioned that each would also see new miniature releases as well.
June sees the release of the main box set followed by the core book, Crusade: Tyrannic War, Chapter Approved Mission Deck, and Index Cards in Summer 2023.
With the box set release will also be updated rules for every faction for free to download but codexes will follow.
First up in Autumn 2023 are Codex: Tyranids and Codex: Space Marines.
In Winter 2023 we’ll see Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus and Codex: Necrons.
Spring 2024 will be the release of Codex: Dark Angels, Codex: Orks, Codex: Adeptus Custodes, Codex: T’au Empire, and Codex: Chaos Space Marines. This is the first indication we’ll be getting codex releases for Space Marine subfactions.
Games Workshop has revealed what’s coming to pre-order next week. Breaking from the pattern, we get a second weekend in a row of Warhammer 40K releases along with a bunch for Necromunda.
Boarding Patrol: Adepta Sororitas will bring flame and melta to the heretics out there. A Canoness leads 5 Celestian Sacresants, 10 SIsters Repentia, and 10 Battle Sisters.
Boarding Patrol: Adeptus Custodes are the elite of the elite. It features 3 Allarus Custodians, 5 Custodian Guard, and Trajann Valoris.
Boarding Patrol: Thousand Sons is a solid start to a force featuring 2 Chaos Spawn, 20 Rubric Marines, and 2 Psykers.
The Aranthian Succession: Vaults of Temenos continues the Necromunda storyline. Cinderak City has fallen, but the succession crisis on Necromunda is far from over. A mysterious Prophet guides hordes of true believers on a pilgrimage to recover holy relics from the depths of Tenemos. The book includes new lore on the civil war, seven narrative scenarios, four Dramatis Personae central to the story, and new rules for House Cawdor and Palanite Enforcer gangs.
Enforcer ‘Sanctioner’ Pattern Automata are bigger, tougher dispensers of justice. They’ll look great in Palanite Enforcer patrols.
Cawdor Ridge Walkers are finally coming after being teased some time ago. They bring speed and are perfect for quick attacks to knock rivals off their game.
Cawdor Vehicle Gang Tactics Cards and Cawdor Dice Set will help keep things organized and show off your gang loyalty. There are 18 new cards for use in your Ash Wastes campaigns, plus eight Cawdor-branded blank cards.
Cawdor Ash Wastes Upgrades are resin parts to help you make your gang even more unique.
Ashwood Stranger, Outcast Leader is a legend. He might be an en ex-Enforcer but no one knows for sure. Either way, he dispenses justice from hive to hive.

Games Workshop has revealed new Warhammer 40,000Combat Patrols for 2022 to help build out your forces or start a new one!
T’au, Grey Knights, Adeptus Custodes, Genestealer Cults, and Thousand Sons are all getting new Combat Patrol releases.
Combat Patrols have retailed for $140 and featured pretty decent savings. If things remain the same, how do these stack up?
T’au: ~$218 retail separately, the Ethereal figure currently is only in the Start Collecting box.
Grey Knights: ~$175, the box features a five man Strike Squad making the value a little less than others.
Adeptus Custodes: ~$218, the box has a nice mix and is one of the more intriguing releases and the box’s value will really be determined by what units you can make out of it as is.
Genestealer Cults: ~$258, if this one keeps the regular retail price for the boxes, it might be one of the best values out there and as far as a force, this one looks like a really solid way to start.
Thousand Sons: ~$178, the character included isn’t currently offered on its own so this one’s a bit of a guess. The inclusion of so many Tzaangors and no Rubric Marines is a bit odd.
Games Workshop promised we’d get two new codexes in January to start the year and they have delivered with this week’s pre-orders.

During Warhammer Day 2021, Games Workshop pulled back the curtain and revealed two new updated Codexes that will be coming soon for Warhammer 40,000. Also revealed was a brand-new campaign box, “Shadow Throne“.
Genestealer Cults have found their way to the heart of the Imperium and the Adeptus Custodes will step up to stop this insidious threat.
The Adeptus Custoddes get a new character in Aristothes Carvellan, a Blade Champion whose strength is his swordsmanship. Blade Champions are a new type of character for the force and can switch between three different fighting styles to take on the challenge of different opponents.
Genestealer Cults get backup as well with Mersea Thrayk, a Reductus Saboteur. She seeds the battlefield with explosives before the battle is joined.
Also included in “Shadow Throne” is a 32-page book with narrative missions to play out the Unthinkable War.
Both forces get codexes as well later this year.
Codex: Adeptus Custodes is a big one as it combines the Talons of the Emperor into one book by containing Sisters of Silence. That means psyker-killing power of the Silent Sisters added to your Shield Host! Also included are new Stratagems, Relics, and Warlord Traits.
Codex: Genestealer Cults is also coming featuring updated rules that are very thematic for the force. You’ll now be able to leap from hiding and catch targets in a lethal crossfire, rewarding positioning with bonuses to shooting attacks.
Games Workshop has revealed the next round of new releases that will be available for pre-order this coming Saturday.
The Adeptus Custodes get reinforcements with the Vertus Praetors who fly Dawneagle Jetbikes.
A fast attack unit, they not only can take on infantry but with salvo launchers they can be used as tank and aircraft hunters.
You’ll also be able to build a Shield-Captain on Dawneagle Jetbike, a great HQ choice for a rapid-assault Adeptus Custodes army.
Also available are Custodian Wardens, the very oldest of the Golden Legion. The unit boasts additional wargear compared to their less experienced brethren.
This kit will also allow you to build a Shield-Captain as well as a Vexilus Praetor.
But, a new foe arises.
The Thousand Sons get a Codex of their own that features all new rules. To help build your force for 40K a Tzaangor Upgrade Pack will also be released which you can use to arm you Tzaangors with autopistols and chainswords.
Games Workshop has revealed the releases that will be up for pre-order this coming weekend and it’s the forces of Adeptus Custodes!
On top of the new Adeptus Custodes Codex is Trajann Valoris and Allarus Custodians. You’ll also be able to keep track of your force with new datacards.
Along with the Custodes are Imperial characters including Roboute Guilliman, Celestine, Greyfax, and Cypher. All are now available on their own for the first time.
The releases will be available for pre-order January 20th.
