Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Commander Farsight enters the Arks of Omen

It’s a Warhammer 40K focused pre-order next week from Games Workshop. Arks of Omen continues with a new book and lots of releases to help start your forces or expand your existing ones.

Vashtorr the Arkifane’s quest for the Key-fragments is nearing its end, and the action turns to the dead world of Arthas Moloch in Arks of Omen: Farsight.

The book expands Boarding Actions. Dark Depths missions allow you to mix up your battlefields and introduces multiplayer games for three or four players. There are also expanded Boarding Actions rules for T’au Empire, Asuryani and Ynnari, Drukhari, Harlequins, and Adepta Sororitas Boarding Patrols, which add further Stratagems and Enhancements for your crew.

You can get the book in a regular and a Special Edition which features a silver foil-embossed cover, printed page edges, and a black ribbon page marker.

The big item is Arena of Shades. The latest battlebox for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar pits the Nighthaunt against the Daughters of Khaine. Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Aeldari Get Reinforcements

With a recent codex release, the Aeldari are getting more units to bolster your force! The Avatar of Khaine is the highlight for the upcoming week.

The Avatar of Khaine is a monster of a beast on the tabletop. It not only will destroy on the tabletop it also makes Asuryani core units better allowing for them to re-roll charges and ignore negative modifiers on Combat Attrition tests.

There are also some fantastic choices to make yours unique with multiple heads and weapon options.

Spead into battle with Shining Spears. You get helmeted and unhelmeted options, and the ability to build an Exarch with shuriken cannon and shimmershield and choice of a paragon sabre or star lance.

The Eldritch Omens Autarch is now available on its own. The character will boost your forces and comes with lots of options like a star glaive, a Scorpion chainsword, a shuriken pistol, a Reaper launcher, a Dragon fusion gun, and a death spinner. There’s also a Banshee mask and helmetless option as well as a male and female torso.

If you’re looking for a stealthy option, there’s the Rangers. The troop choice is armed with long rifles that ignore Look Out, Sir. Their cloaks help protect them from fire as well. You get 11 different head options and the option for a gloom field or wireweave net as well as a shrine to their god of Khaine.

Shroud Runners mix speed with firepower. Like Rangers, they also ignore Look Out, Sir making them great for hit-and-run attacks. There are lots of options when it comes to building yours.

If you want to build your force quickly, there’s the Combat Patrol: Aeldari. It comes with six Windriders, Wraithlord, a Farseer, and s set of Guardians.

Tempest of War Cards help you generate missions quickly with thousands of combinations available. There are cards for deployment, primary objectives, second objectives, and special mission rules.

More miniatures are being rotated out from the Warhammer 40,000 line. They’ll all no longer be available for sale after April 3rd though may return in the future. Many of the miniatures look like they line up with rumored future releases so this should be interesting.

Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: The Aeldari Arrive

After weeks of teasing, the Aeldari arrive in Games Workshop‘s pre-order next week. Not only is the Codex available but also some of what has already been revealed, which means there’s a lot more to come!

Codex: Aeldari comes in the expected two editions. The 200 page book features rules for Asuryani, Ynnari, and Harlequins. You’ll also find lore, photos o miniatures, campaign section, psychic disciplines, datasheets, and more.

Get the regular edition or the limited collector’s edition with a soft-touch cover, silver foil blocking, and black ribbon marker.

Maugan Ra arrives with a brand new miniature. The Phoenix Lord is armed with his iconic scythed shuriken cannon, the Maugetar.

The Triumvirate of Ynnead returns as well!

Yvraine is the emissary of Ynnead, the god of death. SHe’s a powerful psyker and wields the power Croneswords. There’s also a cute Gyrinx.

Visarch is the loyal bodyguard of Yvraine. Armed with a Cronesword, Visarch is clad in a suit of Bel-Anshoc armor from which he can draw upon various personalities of past wearers.

The Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game gets a release with Rutabi and Brórgîr. Lead the Rhûnnish Dragon Cults into battle with two Easterling Heroes. Rutabi is a powerful Hero and one of the foremost Easterling generals. Brórgîr is the head Easterling War Priest, who has delved into the ancient texts to enhance his dark powers to earth-shattering levels.

Black Library is getting some classic books back as a made to order print run. Get five hardcover books to complete your Siege of Terra collection as it builds to its climax. You’ll be able to get your hands on The Master of Mankind, Garro: Weapon of Fate, Shattered Legions, The Crimson King, and Tallarn – books 41 to 45 in the series.

There are quite a few licensed releases coming as well.

For those that want their Games Workshop games in other tabletop form, you can get Cubicle 7’s Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay: Elector Counts – An Old World Card Game. Collect resources, assassinate rivals, and prepare for leadership-toppling sieges. The game is for 2 to 4 players.

Games Workshop has teased Aeldari Corsairs for Kill Team, and also able to be used in Warhammer 40,000. Now, we have a first look at the entire Voidscarred!

These pirates launch raids from their Aeldari ships seeking wealth, prestige, and the fun of battle!

The new plastic kit has a lot of options allowing for an array of fighters.

This new unit will first be available in the upcoming Kill Team: Nachmund boxed set.

It’s a pretty light week for Games Workshop pre-orders after a pretty busy start to 2022. Warhammer 40,000 gets the big release with “Eldritch Omens“. “Eldritch Omens” is the latest campaign box that pits Aeldari against Chaos with lots of new miniatures.

The Aeldari half is commanded by the new multi-part Autarch, five new Rangers, and three brand-new Shroud Runners.

Chaos delivers a Warpsmith, five new Chosen, and a Forgefiend.

The box set also has a 32-page booklet with datasheet, narrative missions, and a new Theatre of WAr to play out the battle in. There are also 700 transfers split between the two forces.

The box set ties into the current Nachmund season of Warhammer 40,000 so works as a nice hook for those focused on that narrative campaign.

The box set has a pre-order promise, so if it’s ordered at any point during the weekend, you’re guaranteed to receive a copy.

LVO 2022: Aeldari Corsairs Plunder Nachmund in Kill Team

As has become tradition at the Las Vegas Open, Games Workshop held a preview event showing off some of what’s coming soon for their games. Kill Team got some hints as to what’s coming in the next “season”.

As shouldn’t be a surprise, the game will turn its focus on the conflict in Nachmund. At least one “new faction” will coming to the battlefield with the Aeldari Corsairs!

The Voidscarred kill team takes inspiration from the noble Asuryani, the sadistic Drukhari, and other things they picked up along the way. Being interstellar pirates, expect a pretty diverse look for the models.

But, this force won’t be limited to Kill Team, you’ll be able to use them with your Aeldari and Drukhari armies.

LVO 2022: Games Workshop Reveals New Aeldari including the Avatar of Khaine and Maugan Ra

As has become tradition at the Las Vegas Open, Games Workshop held a preview event showing off some of what’s coming soon for their games. The Warhammer 40,000 portion focused on the Aeldari and the new line of miniatures being released.

The army get a centerpiece with the Avatar of Khaine, an update that has been long overdue. This new massive model comes with multiple weapon options including a spear and axe, and multiple choices for heads too.

The Avatar won’t be alone as the Phoenix Lord Maugan Ra is back with a new look. The new miniature plays off of the classic miniature with a focus on skeletal details, appropriate since it rains death.

Shining Spears are back as well with lots of options. You can assemble them with or without helmets for an army of Ynnari. You can also build an Exarch with a star lance or paragon sabre.

This is on top of the new Autarch, Warlock, and Guardian kits already reveled! It’s looking like 2022 is going to be a big year for Aeldari players!

Aeldari Dark Reapers Are Back in Plastic

Games Workshop has been teasing the upcoming new Aeldari for Warhammer 40,000 and today they’ve revealed brand-new plastic Dark Reapers!

Dark Reapers feature thick armor and Reaper launchers, delivering some heavy weapon support to the Aeldari.

The new kit features four warriors and an Exarch as well as a Dark Reaper Shrine. The Exarch features multiple head choices and four weapons like the classic Reaper launcher, a three-tipped tempest missile launcher, an Aeldari missile launcher, and a shuriken cannon. The kit also features unhelmeted options for each warrior for use in Ynnari armies.
