Also announced today, Conquest Legends are now available for free to download from their website. The small campaign rules can be used to play Conquest and tell the story of your own Heroes and Elite Regiments, who are bred in the field of Battle and molded by the fires of War!

Also added is an army builder! You’ll need an account on the Para Bellum website to use it but army builders are a popular request.

Conquest 1.5 has Arrived in Print!

Fish Kill side ad

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, introduces new version rules for both of its games. Version 1.5 offers extensive and significant changes to individual rules, gives more flavor to entire factions, and provides solutions to balancing issues, and while some are polished, the core mechanics of the game remain undisturbed.

Indeed, while the changes are extensive, the core mechanics of both games have remained the same, so you do not have to learn two new game systems from scratch. The updated rulebooks offer many imaginative new strategies to employ, new exciting tools to utilize and unexpected uses for old ones. More, perhaps, than anything else, 1.5 offers an increased flavor in the way each Faction operates on the table. At the same time, wording and balancing issues have been addressed, with some previous points of debate cleared out. Players will spend more time thinking of new ways to fight rather than trying to understand how to do it!

The updated Rulebooks are available in six languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish) and, as ever, Para Bellum offers all rules in all available languages online for free, along with free and updated usage of the Army Builder on its site.

But, for those that want the print version, it has now arrived and can be purchased from your favorite game stores.

The Nords Skald and Konungyr and Iced Jotnar are Coming for Conquest

Fish Kill side ad

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, turned its attention to the Nords faction and revealed not one, not two but three new releases. Among them, the dreaded but imposing Ice Jotnar, specially sculpted for Conquest by renowned sculptor Michael Kontraros.

The new releases will see a whole new character becoming available to Nords players, bringing a new Supremacy Ability and allowing new Restricted units to be fielded. Coming in August to your FLGS, the Konungyr proves that the fragmented leadership of the Nords respects only one thing: power and strength. Only they can command enough respect to field an Ice Jotun, for the Ice Jotnar are the nobility of their kind and most powerful among the giants. Joining their Konungyr in September, this Monster is gifted with the power of storm and ice, their combat prowess going far beyond the swinging of their massive weapon or even the unforgiving cold their mere presence emanates. As if summoned to tell the tales such powerful new additions promise, the Command Upgrade model of the Skald completes the trio of Nords releases, and all Nord warriors, from the mightiest Jarl to the youngest raider, will fight like lions beneath his gaze, hoping to be immortalized in song.

Released in August (Skald and Konungyr) and September (Ice Jotnar), the end of the summer will bring warmth to the hearts of Nord Warlords everywhere… and terror to their enemies.

Para Bellum Unleashes Chronicles and Legends, New Campaign Rules and Lore for Conquest

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, published rules for Campaign play! The new book, Conquest Campaigns: Chronicles and Legends, introduces rules for linking games into Campaigns. The “Chronicles” system provides the ground and rules for players and their “Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings” groups to design, play and resolve an entire campaign that they can play with their factions, expanding meaning of “wargame” to beyond single battles between two armies. “Legends”, on the other hand, is designed to walk hand in hand with both the First Blood and the Last Argument of Kings games, allowing characters to be forged into heroes and their most trusted and accomplished units to be elevated into myth.

Conquest Campaigns: Chronicles and Legends features over ninety pages of original lore and art, examples of narrative campaigns, and expandind on lore that drove the factions into war. It also explores, for the first time, the W’adrhŭn, the fifth released faction of Conquest, as well as the dreaded undead of the Old Dominion, the decadent majesty of the City States and the mysterious Weavers. It also reveals the unknown truths of the Orders’ origin and the violent Exile Campaign of the Dweghom during the final days of the Age of Worship, providing ample inspiration for players to forge their own campaigns and stories in the world of Conquest!

The premium soft cover guide of Conquest Campaigns – Chronicles and Legends – with 136 full size pages complete with beautiful illustrations – is available now at FLGS and online at our EShop for $€29 MSRP!

The W’adrhŭn Warbred Will Help Crush Your Opponents in Conquest

Fish Kill side ad

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed their latest faction’s new release: the much anticipated Warbred!

The Warbred are bigger, stronger, and tougher than their brethren; throwbacks to the earlier generations of W’adrhŭn that the Spires had sought to breed. Complications during childbirth, leading to unacceptable attrition among breeding females, led to the scrapping of this design, but clearly their efforts were not entirely successful.

The statistics and rules of the unit can already be found on the free online Army Builder provided by Para Bellum, with integrated army building rules for both games of Conquest. The Warbred will be coming to your friendly local gaming store the first week of June!

Retailing for $€45 for the set, it’s available at your FLGS, Game Nerdz, Miniature Market, or the Conquest EShop.

Conquest’s Spire Forces Expand with the Incarnate Sentinels

Fish Kill side ad

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed their latest release for the Spires faction, the Incarnate Sentinels.

Perverse creations of the Directorate, individual organs were gathered and assembled over a reinforced skeleton. Favoring function before elegance, the Incarnates are yet another example of the Spires surpassing the limits of flesh. With a twistedly beautiful sculpt, the Incarnate Sentinels’ lore takes life through their models, all the while being a strong addition to every Spire Warlord’s forces!

Releasing in July in at your favorite FLGS, the Incarnate Sentinel will be a much sought-after Spires Regiment, combining a unique aesthetic with a strong punch on the table!

Raptor Riders are Coming to Conquest’s W’adrhŭn

Fish Kill side ad

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed their latest faction’s new release: the much anticipated Raptor Riders!

As a byproduct of the diverse genetic material, the Spires used to produce the W’adrhŭn, a portion of their population has developed an almost supernatural empathy with beasts. A curious twist to this legacy seems to be that the females bond with predators while males bond with herbivores. Mounted on fierce raptors these agile warrior units can range across the entire battlefield bringing their savagery to play where most needed.

The statistics and rules of the unit can already be found on the free online Army Builder provided by Para Bellum, with integrated army building rules for both games of Conquest. The Raptor Riders will be coming to your friendly local gaming store the first week of June, bringing the “Dinos” in Dino-riding orcs!

The W’adrhŭn Matriarch Queen is ready to rule in Para Bellum’s Conquest

Fish Kill side ad

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed their latest faction’s new character. The Matriarch Queen of the W’adrhŭn is joining the fray, in all her majestic glory!

The young W’adrhŭn race naturally prizes life giving females in their society – but they do not limit them to any one role. Those females who eschew these roles and chose, rather, to follow the example of their living goddess, become peerless warriors and leaders. They have earned every ounce of respect from their warriors and every iota of fear from their enemies through sheer talent and application. This is reflected on the tabletop, with the Matriarch Queen Character inspiring her allies, even to the point they fight to their last breath, while helping reinforcements arrive on their field faster and more efficiently.

Releasing to fans the first week of June, the Matriarch Queen will be a prized Character for all W’adrhŭn commanders, while her model will steal the hearts of all who gaze upon it… quite literally as she brutally holds an opponent’s heart in her palm.

Para Bellum Wargames has released over 40 new items so far in 2021 for Conquest, steadily growing the game and its world.
