Mondo Announces Unmatched: Deadpool

Last year, Mondo and Restoration Games announced an entire Marvel line for Unmatched, the head-to-head miniatures skirmish game system for two to four players. When Deadpool learned of the plans, he decided he needed to be the first hero out of the gate.

Unmatched: Deadpool contains a sculpted hero miniature, health dial, and 31 cards. The expansion can be used with any full set in the Unmatched system; which announced four upcoming sets featuring Marvel heroes earlier this year.

Unmatched: Deadpool is on sale now at MondoShop.com with a retail price of $18.00.

Mr. Sinister, Deadpool, Cable, Domino, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, and a Taco Truck are Coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol

Atomic Mass Games has revealed the second wave of X-Men releases for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Out in the second quarter of 2021, the releases feature some we knew about and others we didn’t.

Revealed are Mr. Sinister, a Cable and Domino pack, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch pack, and Deadpool who also features Hydra Bob and a Taco Truck. It’ll be interesting to see which factions Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch belong to as they have been a part of the Avengers, Brotherhood, X-Men (Quicksilver has), and just general villains.

You can see that Deadpool is coming with a lot of options as far as heads and design, so should be fun for those to put together and use during games.

Deadpool is Coming to Your Adult Game Nights with Deadpool vs. the World from USAoploy

The Merc with the Mouth is getting is own game in Deadpool vs The World, an outrageous improvisational adult party game in which players are rewarded for providing their most original—and unsuitable—commentary.

The game follows the popular adult party game formula as players are presented with prompts in “WTF?” cards which feature illustrations depicting Deadpool in a variety of absurd and uncomfortable scenarios.

An appointed “Editor,” aka the judge, then has each person fill in the blank of a “Caption” card they choose, with the goal being to tell a hilarious story behind the given image. The Editor selects the best narrative among the randomized submissions, for which its author collects the WTF? card as recognition for their creativity. The first player to collect five WTF? cards wins.

It’s the formula spawned by Apples to Apples and skyrocketed due to Cards Against Humanity which has since created dozens of similar adult games.

A game can be played in 30-45 minutes.

Deadpool vs The World includes 100 custom illustrated WTF? Cards, six wet-erase markers, and 300 open-ended Caption Cards.

WizKids Shows Off Agent Carter, Lady Deadpool, Angela, Blind Al, and Bob from Marvel Dice Masters: Deadpool

The latest Dice Masters set, Marvel Dice Masters: Deadpool sees release in early November and WizKids is showing off some of the cards we can expect from the new set. On their Instagram account, the game publisher has shown off three new cards, Agent Carter: Answered the Call, Lady Deadpool: Earth-3010, and Angela: Raised by an Angel. That’s two rares and a super rare that’ll be in the set and all three characters are new to the game.

Yesterday the company showed off a common and uncommon in Blind Al: Stay in the Deadhut and Bob, Agent of Hydra: Hydra Doesn’t Offer Dental.

Blind Al is a 3 MASK to purchase that deals damage to an opponent when Blind Al is dealt damage. There’s a mechanic in there where you could ping Blind Al yourself and deal your opponent damage due to that. It looks like the card is cheap to field too, but makes this an interesting thing to explore.

Bob, Agent of Hydra is a 3 FIST that gives Deadpool Teams Fast when Bob is fielded. It’s an interesting card, but really is only useful if you’re running a Deadpool team, which I expect we’ll see a bunch of when the set is released.

Agent Carter is a cheap cost 2 to purchase and is a cheap die to field with good attack and defense stats and the ability to increase the cost to field Sidekick as characters while she’s active. Depending on the purchasing cost, this could be a good card to cripple decks that rely on Sidekick characters. I can see this character becoming a regular in games.

Lady Deadpool is a 5 SHIELD to purchase and we can only see the first two fielding costs. The wording of the card is a little funky, but it seems to allow you to use an action die twice. It says “bursts” which is what’s confusing to me, but that means you’re getting the double amount of energy to spend or double the ability, which could be devastating in a game.

Finally, Angela is a cost 4 BOLT again with cheap fielding and solid stats. This is an interesting card that allows you to deal 1 damage to target character die or player for each Angela die you rolled that shows an energy face after each Roll and Reroll Step. There’s an interesting mechanic there, but for the 4 BOLT cost to field it may be too weak to really make a major impact considering there’s other ways to do similar and greater damage.

WizKids Begins to Tease Their Deadpool Dice Masters Set

Out in November, the next Marvel Dice Masters set is based on the world of Deadpool. WizKids has started to tease what we can expect in the set by showing off by the uncommon Dogpool and common Deadpool. The set gives us a “Deadpool” team (shocker) with cards that’ll play off of that, and it looks like at least one new keyword “Deadly.”

They’ve also revealed the first Inhumans card, Lockjaw! The common card looks to be an interesting spin on the name the die mechanic that can do some serious damage to weenie swarm builds.

The set not only features characters from the world of Deadpool and Weapon X, but also some Spider-Verse characters and the first appearance of Inhumans. Super rares will continue the “What If?” theme. The set also features foil versions of every card like the recent DC Comics Dice Masters: Green Arrow and The Flash.

Knight Model’s Marvel Universe Miniature Game Launches

We’ve been covering the lead up, but Knight Models has officially launched it’s latest game, Marvel Universe Miniature Game. The game allows you to play as Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the X-Men, pitting the factions against each other. There are three starter sets which include 4 metal miniatures as well as a mini rulebook. The price for the starter sets will retail for roughly $50 in US dollars but are currently on sale for about $45.

What is new is the blister packs launching along with the game, along with a template and markers. The blisters retail for $22.50 and the launch figures are Black Panther, Deadpool, and Nova. Definitely not ones I was expecting. There is also a marker set for each faction.

Check out the images below and you can order them directly from Knight Models.
