Games Workshop World Championships Preview: The Mad King Rises with an army that follows
Sumeros Summerking has returned! Behold, Ushoran, the Mortarch of Delusion, the most august and revered monarch in all the Mortal Realms. Ushorn was once the greatest and noblest champion of Nagash and was brought low by a twist of fate. Now, he’s a swollen goliath with an unquenchable thirst.
You’ll find all of that history in Dawnbringers Book IV – The Mad King Rises. In Aqshy, the crusade runs afoul of Lauka Vai’s Vengorian Courts, and in Ghyran it marches deep into Ushoran’s domain of New Summercourt. The Mad King Rises is the next chapter of Dawnbringers, bringing exciting plot developments, rules for every Death faction, and the return of Triumph and Treachery, a battlepack in which multiple players vie for success.
Joining Ushoran is a new chivalrous army. These new devoted servants, bold knights, and more are here for the Summerking to battle others on their mission to rescue the Mortal Realms from the grip of war, and establish a utopia of honor and majesty.
The Cryptguard protect their monarch’s estates. Lowly serfs have earned their privileges through valor and loyalty. They dine on the leftovers from the noble banquets.
Morbheg Knights ride winged steeds into battle delivering a pulverising charge.
Varghulf Courtiers bring strength as wandering champions who do battle wherever they find it.
The Abhorrant Cardinal are loyal to Ushoran alone enforcing the Summerking’s divine will with miracles.
Royal Decapitators carry out justice of the courts with little hesitation. They wield massive axes with zeal.
You’ll be able to get the next step in this army with the Flesh-eater Courts Army Set. This box contains a diligent Abhorrant Gorewarden, a blessed Varghulf Courtier, 20 Cryptguard eager to seek approval from the court, and three valiant Morbheg Knights.
