Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Necrons, Adeptus Mechanicus, and Necromunda, are just a bit of a packed week

It’s a packed week of releases with a heavy 40K focus as two armies launch for Warhammer 40K, Kill Team gets a release, and Necromunda also gets some anticipated releases. Then there are books from Black Library too! Check out below to see what’s coming from Games Workshop and Forge World.

Codex: Necrons brings updated rules for the ancient robotic force. It contains 47 datasheets, 5 individual Detachments, Crusade Rules, Combat Patrol Rules, and of course background, painting guide, and more. You can get the regular edition as well as a Collectors’ Edition with a soft-touch cover, unique cover art, a ribbon bookmark, and green foil blocking.

Imotekh the Stormlord is one of the mightiest Necron Overlords. He returns to the battlefield with a new miniature flexing his clawed gauntlet of fire. His hyperlogical strategic skills confer an extra Command Point every turn, while unnatural lightning strikes any foolish enough to approach.

Orikan the Diviner is a master astromancer with many millennia of experience. As a Master Chronomancer, he affords his bodyguards a 4+ invulnerable save, and once per game he can channel cosmic alignments to triple his Strength and Attacks in combat.

The Overlord with Translocation Shroud features a Translocation Shroud that allows your Overlord and a squad to Advance 6” every time, phasing through terrain, buildings, and enemy units as they move.

The Overlord with Tachyon Arrow is a recent boxed set release now available on its own. With the tachyon arrow, it can launch a hyperaccelerated thunderbolt out to a range of 72″ for a Strength 16 shot that causes D6+2 damage.

The Royal Warden is another miniature previously only available as part of a boxed set. The Royal Warden allows a unit it’s attached to to Charge or Shoot even after they’ve Fallen Back.

Starting a Necron force or want to expand your current one? Then check out the Combat Patrol: Necrons. Amonhotekh’s Guard features 19 miniatures for use both in full games of Warhammer 40,000 and Combat Patrol. Accompanied by her loyal macro-grapplehawk Terror’s Shadow, Asun’ghar is a house agent whom Nomads gangs may petition for aid in their struggle against anyone making a stink outside the confines of the underhive. She’s made of Forge World resin.

The Ash Wastes Outpost collects all of the Thatos-pattern terrain kits for Necromunda – which are also well-suited to games of Warhammer 40,000, Kill Team, and Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – including 1 Hab Module, 1 Extended Hab Module, a Large Platform, a Tall Platform, a Small Platform, and 4 Walkways – enough to build a substantial ash wastes settlement.

Black Library has a few releases as well.

Warboss by Mike Brooks gets a paperback edition. With only one bastion still standing on the once unconquerable fortress world of Aranua, Warboss Gazrot Goresnappa should be basking in the light of impending victory. Black Library also has two German releases. Assassinorum: Kingmaker by Robert Rath and Ahriman: The Omnibus by John French are both coming out. In the former, a Vindicare and a Callidus Assassin are tasked with eliminating a seditious leader and safely steering a pro-Imperial candidate to the throne – if only their target wasn’t the pilot of a massive Imperial Knight… The latter collects three novels and numerous short stories all concerning Ahriman, the greatest and most hubristic sorcerer of the Thousand Sons.

Games Workshop has revealed its previews for next week and it’s a big one for Warhammer 40K. The return of Lion El’Jonson is one of the big stories of the year so far and you’ll be able to get The Lion & Retinue. The Lion has risen from his 10,000-year slumber, and he’s wasting no time putting traitors to the sword. You get Lion El’Jonson and three elite Bladeguard Veterans, as well as a packed Dark Angels transfer sheet, and two beautiful prints depicting key art from Arks of Omen: The Lion.

Arks of Omen: The Lion is the final chapter of the event storyline. Vashtorr the Arkifane assembles his Key-fragments and begins a ritual of cataclysmic proportions. Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: The Astra Militarum gets reinforcements and Black Library Celebration

Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Age of Sigmar, Black Library, Warcry, Aeronautica Imperialis, and Necromunda!

It’s a little bit of everything this coming week for Games Workshop‘s pre-orders. Black Library and Age of Sigmar get the highlights with the biggest releases of the week.

Drekki Flynt stars in his first full-length novel from Guy Haley The Arkanaut’s Oath! It’ll be available in hardback, ebook, and audiobook and there’s also a new miniature of Drekki Flynt too!

Cado Ezechiar and The Hollow King by John French is the other release. That too is accompanied by a miniature of the character. It’ll be available as a hardbook, ebook, and audiobook.

Arcane Cataclysm will be released for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. It features the Lumineth Realm-lords taking on the Disciples of Tzeentch. The box set features two brand new miniatures – the Scinari Enlightener can share her pain with her enemies while the updated Curseling is a potent fusion (literally) of warrior and mage. Arcane Cataclysm includes five Vanari Bladelords, five Vanari Dawnriders, 10 Vanari Auralan Sentinels, three Tzaangor Enlightened on Discs of Tzeentch, 10 Tzaangors, and 20 Kairic Acolytes. Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Ka’bandha for Horus Heresy, Necromunda, Knights, Kill Team, and more!

Games Workshop has revealed what’s coming next week for pre-order. Kicking things off is Ka’bandha, Daemon General of Signus for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. The Daemon General is a force of nature who leaves battlefields drenched in blood in the name of Khorne. The miniature is resin and part of the Horus Heresy Character Series. It can be displayed with and without its horned helm. Rules are coming for The Horus Heresy.

For Necromunda, the Ironhead Squat Prospectors get the Vartijan Exo-Driller. With thick armor, it can survive a volley of enemy fire and give it back in return.

The Knight Questoris gets a release for Warhammer 40,000. They fill a wide variety of roles. The reboxed release can be built into one of the six Imperial Knight variants as well as Canis Rex. Or, how about a Chaos Knight Despoiler?

Games Workshop is Back for Pre-Orders Next Week with Necromunda, Blood Bowl, Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm, and More

After a few weeks of no new pre-orders, Games Workshop is back with a pretty packed week of new releases. You’ll be able to pre-order all of the below starting next Saturday!

Necromunda gets a new boxed set with Necromunda: Hive War. The new set has everything you need to play and a perfect way for new players to get into the game. The set comes with two gangs, Escher and Delaque with 10 plastic miniatures for each gang and a variety of weapons to arm them.

Also included is a 10-page softback rulebook which includes everything you need to play from how to generate gangs, to the rules, scenarios, and more.

There’s also modular scenary with which you can use to do battle as well as a double-sided gaming mat, dice, tokens, cards, and templates.

Also coming is a Necromunda Underhive Propaganda Transfer Sheet that features 499 decals that you can use to help make your scenery unique and add finishing touches to your own Underhive.

Games Workshop Launches 40k 9th Edition’s Starter Set Pre-Orders Next Week

Games Workshop has revealed what’s coming for pre-order this coming week and Warhammer 40,000 fans will be really happy.

The three already revealed starter sets will all be up for pre-order allowing players to have three entry points as well as an opportunity to expand your current armies. But there’s so much more!

The “Recruit Edition” is focused on those brand-new to the hobby. It’s goal is to allow individuals to easily learn or teach the basics of the game.

The set includes miniatures, dice, range rulers, a mat, and a Recruit Manual featuring each unit’s datasheet and how to learn the basics of the game.

The “Elite Edition” features a larger selection of units including a Necron Overlord and a Primaris Captain. This option is for those looking to expand their collection but also a step to learn the game.

Paint Sets and Tool Kits

Games Workshop has three paints sets incoming. There’s two paint sets focused on model makers featuring either three Assault Intercessors or three Necron Warriors. Each set also includes six Citadel paints, a Starter Brush, and a guide to help you paint your models.

There’s also a paint set that includes tools. This set features 13 paints which are the colors found in the two other sets but also a pair of clippers and a mold line scraper.

The Warhammer 40,000 Command Edition Battlefield Expansion Set includes a fold-out, double-sided gaming board and a selection of 12 pieces of plastic push-fit terrain. All of this is also available in the Command Edition starter set.

Black Library has some new books for you to read to expand the worlds of Warhammer 40,000, The Horus Heresy, and Necromunda.

Avenging Son is the first book in a series about the Indomitus Crusade. Written by Guy Haley, it’ll be available as a paperback as well as one of 2000 signed copies in a special edition which also includes a bonus story “A Witch’s Fate”.

The First Wall is written by Gav Thorpe and takes place during the Horus Heresy’s Siege of Terra. The Traitor forces prepare to launch their main assault on the Emperor’s Palace. Perturabo must take the indomitable Lion’s Gate spaceport to land his mightiest weaponry.
