A New Magic: The Gathering Comic Book Series Launches this Fall

Wizards of the Coast and IDW Publishing revealed today details for an all-new Magic: The Gathering comic to be published beginning this November. Magic: The Gathering: Chandra is written by Vita Ayala with interior art by Harvey Tolibao and features all-new adventures of fan-favorite pyromancer Planeswalker Chandra Nalaar. This is the first Magic: The Gathering comic in four years and will introduce an all-new approach to storytelling as the franchise marks its 25th year.

The series focusing on Chandra will introduce the reader to her including her story, her quirks, and her powers. Set in the near future of the Multiverse, these never-before-told stories will breathe life into Chandra, her cohorts, and her enemies in new and visually striking ways. Knowledge of cards is optional, love of characters required.

An adventurous Planeswalker and powerful pyromancer, Chandra Nalaar has seen much in her time—but she had never experienced such tragedy before. In the wake of a devastating loss, Chandra is striking out on her own, determined to prove—to her family and to herself—that next time she’ll be prepared. But when faced with threats both old and new, will she be able to overcome her grief in time to survive? And who is that familiar face lurking in the shadows?

IDW Publishing Announces a New Dungeons & Dragons Comic Series

Break out your 20-sided die and prepare to get spellcasting! Dungeons & Dragons returns to comics this April with more adventures starring the Baldur’s Gate heroes from series past. Fan favorite writer Jim Zub is back to weave another tale and he’s joined by a top-notch stable of artists including Dean Kotz, Steven Cummings, Harvey Tolibao, Ramon Bachs, and Francesco Mortarino. Rounding out the stellar art team is Max Dunbar who returns to the world of D&D to provide covers.

Each artist will tackle an issue of the series which will focus on an individual hero from our band of adventurers to explore what makes them tick, making Dungeons & Dragons: Evil at Baldur’s Gate the most character-centric series of D&D to date.

The Baldur’s Gate heroes return to the city at last, but their time adventuring in Ravenloft and the frozen northern reaches of the Realms has changed them. Each of them must face great trials ahead before they’ll be ready to embrace their destiny. Minsc, Krydle & Shandie, Delina, Nerys Kathon, and Boo will all take center stage throughout this series.
