Gen Con 2019: Mantic Games Brings Hellboy, Walking Dead, and Mantic Night!

Mantic Games is heading to Gen Con and you can find them at booth #835 with demos and exclusives!

Hellboy: The Wild Hunt

Mantic will have the very first copies of the brand-new expansion, The Wild Hunt – flown straight in from China. This will be the first time the expansion has been available anywhere in the world – but there’s only 50 copies, so you might need to be quick to get yours! And don’t worry if you’re not at the show, the expansion will be available from retailers and the Mantic website in September.

If you missed out on the Kickstarter, they’ll have the last few Hellboy Kickstarters copies available in the USA at our booth 835. There are less than 100 Kickstarter Editions – and they are on a first come, first served basis (plus use the voucher from the coupon book to get $20 off).

Hellboy Show Exclusive Nimue, the Blood Queen

You want more Hellboy madness? Mantic will have the new Hellboy Show Exclusive Nimue, the Blood Queen miniature available in very limited amounts at the stand. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to Gen Con, Nimue will be available at other shows we attend and from the Mantic website soon!

Call to Arms will be making its debut at Gen Con. On the stand the new book will be available, along with the faction cards and equipment deck. If you want to take your games of All Out War to the next level, then this is a vital purchase.

For Walking Dead fans, Gen Con will be the first opportunity in the US to grab the Show Exclusive Chris, Leader of the Hunters. Not only do you get Chris, but he also comes with two gruesome resin objective markers.

Also at Gencon Mantic will host the legendary Mantic Night. The ticket costs $30 but for that you get the 10 Year Mantic Gencon Celebration pint pot, a pint of craft beer to put in it (or other tasty beverage of your choice) and a $30 voucher to spend on the Mantic stand. So basically, Mantic’s paying you to come and spend the evening with them! How amazing is that? The event takes place Saturday at 8pm at the Kingmakers Board Game Parlour, where you can chat, drink and game!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Mantic Games Delivers a Holiday Hellboy

Mantic Games has announced a special, limited edition miniature to accompany its upcoming Hellboy: The Board Game. Working once again with Dark Horse Comics and creator Mike Mignola, Holiday Hellboy is a handmade, high quality resin gaming piece based around an iconic piece of festive artwork drawn by Mike Mignola.

This amazing celebratory piece will only be available to order now until the end of December from participating Mantic stockists and direct from Mantic Games. After being designed by a digital sculptor, each Holiday Hellboy will be painstakingly handcrafted by the resin team at Mantic HQ in Nottingham, UK.

Measuring approximately 7cm tall, Holiday Hellboy comes unpainted and requires assembly, but will most definitely make a fantastic festive-themed gift for any Hellboy fan. The set also comes with an exclusive B.P.R.D. Agent card for use in Hellboy: The Board Game.

Due for release in 2019, Hellboy: The Board Game is a co-operative experience in which players face off against some of the comic’s most famous foes. Up to four people take control of iconic B.R.P.D. members – Hellboy, Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman and Johann Kraus – before exploring gothic locations, uncovering ancient artifacts and battling one of Hellboy’s most notorious foes, Rasputin!

Hellboy: The Board Game Gets a Hellboy in Mexico Expansion

Mantic Games has revealed a new add-on expansion to Hellboy: The Board Game which is currently running on Kickstarter. The expansion is a new scenario based on a classic Hellboy story, one of his more fun and wild adventures.

Hellboy in Mexico tells the story of Hellboy’s five-month “drunken weekend” in which he teamed with luchadores to fight vampires, wore some awesome outfits, got married, and drank a lot of tequila.

This expansion includes two new scenarios, four new playable heroes, new items, five new enemy types, a new boss, Mexico-themed tiles, and a new Deck of Doom.

Luchadores people!

This expansion won’t be a standard retail release and will be a one print only limited edition. There’ll be enough copies to fulfill the Kickstarter backer and retail pledges with a slight overprint for shows and events. It’s not an Kickstarter exclusive in that way but Kickstarter is the easiest way to get it.

You can get the Hellboy in Mexico Expansion for £35.

Mantic Games’ Hellboy: The Board Game Crushes Past Its Goal in One Day

We’ve been counting down to launch, but Mantic GamesHellboy: The Board Game is now available on Kickstarter and in an hour it blew past its goal. Nine stretch goals have already been unlocked including Hellboy with pancakes!

The cooperative game is for 1 to 4 players and features the world and characters created by Mike Mignola that not only includes comics but also movies with a new film in the works.

The pledges are few but even at 95 it’s about 50% off the retail price listed and it’s for a lot. There’s over 105 miniatures at this point with lots of expansions.

The basic pledge includes the main game which allows you to play as Abe, Liz, Hellboy, and Johann, with 3 bosses, Rasputin, Tentacle Monster, and Giant Frog Monster. There’s also bonus minion bad guys, the Conqueror Worm Expansion, bonus Nazi Troopers, the BPRD Archives Expansion, extra minions for that, ane exclusives like Hellboy with horns. There’s also a digital edition of Mike Mignola’s Hellboy: Seed of Destruction graphic novel.

The Kickstarter ends on May 25th.
