Hellboy: The Roleplaying Game Comes to Kickstarter this Summer from Mantic Games

Hellboy: The Roleplaying Game

Mantic Games has announced that it is partnering with Dark Horse Comics and creator Mike Mignola to bring Hellboy: The Roleplaying Game to Kickstarter this summer. Hellboy: The Roleplaying Game will be a whole new way to explore the Hellboy and B.P.R.D. universe while creating your own spectacular one-off stories or action-packed chronicles.

Powered by the world’s most popular RPG ruleset, Fifth EditionHellboy: The Roleplaying Game gives you the tools to step into the shoes of a B.P.R.D. agent, ready to face the forces of evil. You can become a field researcher skilled in the study of the occult, a hard-nosed B.P.R.D. security agent, a rookie with hidden supernatural powers, and more…. The choice is yours

Developed by Red Scar PublishingHellboy: The Roleplaying Game is being led by ENnie Award-winning writer and game developer Marc Langworthy, who has worked on Mutant Chronicles 3rd Edition Roleplaying Game, Judge Dredd & The Worlds of 2000 AD Roleplaying Game, and the Conan: Adventures in An Age Undreamed Of Roleplaying Game.

Once the Kickstarter launches, you will be able to try the roleplaying game for yourself with a detailed quickstart that features six pre-generated characters, all the rules needed to play, and a unique adventure inspired by the Hellboy graphic novels, written by Red Scar.

Mantic Games launched Hellboy: The Board Game on Kickstarter in 2018 and raised almost two million dollars during the campaign. The board game is a co-operative experience in which players face off against some of the comic’s most famous foes. Up to four people take control of iconic B.R.P.D. members––Hellboy, Abe Sapien, Liz Sherman, and Johann Kraus––before exploring gothic locations, uncovering ancient artefacts, and battling one of Hellboy’s most notorious foes, Rasputin! After launching at retail last year, the game is now available in multiple languages (French, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian) and is on its fourth reprint after selling out worldwide.

On Kickstarter Aug 4th – Vampire: The Masquerade Rivals Expandable Card Game

Renegade Game Studios has dropped the Kickstarter launch date of August 4, 2020 for Vampire: The Masquerade Rivals Expandable Card Game, along with a trailer for the game.

Vampire: The Masquerade Rivals Expandable Card Game is a game where 2-4 players each control a coterie of vampires and vie to dominate their opponents. The Core Set will be set in San Francisco and will feature vampires from four clans: Brujah, Malkavian, Toreador, and Ventrue.

To win, you will need to score 13 Agenda, defeat your specific Rival by reducing their Prestige (the main resource of the game) to 0, or by sending your Rival’s last active vampire to torpor.

Twilight: 2000 By Free League Coming to Kickstarter on August 12

Twilight: 2000

The new edition of the classic roleplaying game Twilight: 2000 will come to Kickstarter on August 12, Free League Publishing has announced. The new edition of Twilight: 2000 goes back to the roots of the franchise with a boxed set for sandbox roleplaying in the devastation of World War III.

Fans can sign up to be notified at the pre-launch page on Kickstarter.

Twilight: 2000 will be released in the first half of 2021, in partnership with Game Designers’ Workshop and Amargosa Press. This will be the fourth edition of the classic apocalyptic RPG, the first being released by Game Designers’ Workshop in 1984. Just like the original version, the new edition is set in a year 2000 devastated by war – now in an alternate timeline where the Moscow Coup of 1991 succeeded and the Soviet Union never collapsed.

In the game, players take roles of survivors in the aftermath of World War III – soldiers or civilians. Their goal, beyond surviving for another day, can be to find a way back home, to carve out their own fiefdom where they are, to find out more about the mysterious Operation Reset, and maybe, just maybe, make the world a little bit better again.

The core gameplay uses a “hexcrawling” system established in the post-apocalyptic Mutant: Year Zero and survival fantasy Forbidden Lands RPGs (both Silver ENnie winners for Best Rules, in 2015 and 2019), developing it further to fit the gritty world of Twilight: 2000. The core rules are built on the Year Zero Engine used in those games (as well as in the ALIEN RPG), but heavily adapted to fit Twilight: 2000 and its focus on gear and gritty realism.

Axon Punk: Expanded’s Kickstarter IS LIVE!

The Net grows. Megacities claw their way further into the sky. Megacorps sink their hooks deeper into humanity’s psyche. The only thing left to do is call up the crew, crank up the beats, and get to business. Axon Punk: Overdrive is back, for all you Is and AIs out there, bigger and better than ever.

The new edition is full color, adding more art, new layout, new missions, new enemies, and expanded gear, chems, vehicles, and powersuits. It’s the hip hop infused cyberpunk of your dreams, fully realized – no limits, no apologies. Whether you are an OG fan or brand new to the game, this Kickstarter offers several ways to experience Axon Punk.

What is Axon Punk: Overdrive?

Axon Punk: Overdrive is an improvisational and collaborative tabletop Roleplaying Game (RPG) that is heavily inspired by hip hop and classic cyberpunk. In the game, you and your friends play as a team of hackers, engineers, cyborgs, AI, and others who are trying to be forces of change as the great war of global inequality rages on the streets around you. Because the game is set in the hyper-dense megacities of the future, the players together create a Community of locations and fellow city dwellers to interact with during play. Based on the choices the players make, the Community produces missions, gives rewards, and evolves over time – or it could be consumed by the chaos and anarchy caused by futuristic corporate oppression.

What does “Expanded” mean?

  • New color art and color versions of all the previous art – also featuring more members of the Sugar Gamers!
  • Updated layout that is much more evocative, readable, and streamline.
  • Remastered character sheets and Joint sheets for Locations in your Communities.
  • Expanded equipment lists, including more vehicles and powersuits.
  • Expanded list of Digital drugs for AIs, Hackers, and others fools.
  • A new mission commissioned from a guest author from a marginalized community.
  • Expanded list of enemies – more adversaries to fill your campaign with.

Riot Quest: Wintertime Wasteland

The Riot Quest chaos continues with the new Wintertime Wasteland starter box! After plundering and looting all they could find in the more civilized corners of the Iron Kingdoms, the heroes (and villains) of Riot Quest are headed to the strange, frozen north in search of more treasure.

In Riot Quest, players assemble a crew of 5–10 Heroes and an equal number of Riot Gear cards to compete with up to three other players in a chaotic battle to score treasure and rack up victory points in an Arena.

This starter is fully compatible with all previous Riot Quest releases and kicks off a brand new block of post-apocalyptic, winter-themed models and expansions for the game. Wintertime Wasteland introduces new Arena maps, new Bounty and Treasure decks, and loads of new beautifully sculpted Hero models.

The Wintertime Wasteland also introduces exciting new game mechanics, like ultra-powerful Legendary Riot Gear and Tag-Team Heroes (that’s two Heroes combining their efforts to work as single game piece in your Crew). This Kickstarter represents the first half of the Wintertime Wasteland block with even more expansions coming later in 2021. If you’re new to Riot Quest, Wintertime Wasteland is a perfect starting point to take the icy plunge into the loot-questing lifestyle. And if you’re a veteran scavenger with a seasoned Crew, Wintertime Wasteland is ripe with new blood to add to your Bench.
