Oni Games‘ Birdwatcher is coming soon to Kickstarter. Birdwatcher casts players as rival wildlife photographers on a hunt to snap photos of the elusive and stunning birds-of-paradise.

Players will lure birds from the jungle, take photos of the birds in their tree and publish their findings. The photographer with the most citation points at the end of the game is awarded the Global Geographic Photographer of the Year, and is the winner!

The game is illustrated by Lauren Helton, biologist and scientific illustrator with The Institute for Bird Populations in Petaluma, California, and designed by Zakir Jafry. Birdwatcher also features additional art by German zoologist and naturalist, Ernst Haeckel, as well as actual historic publications.

Birdwatcher is for 2-4 players, ages 10+ with games taking 25 to 60 minutes. You can sign up to be notified as to when it launches.
