At Warhammer Fest 2023, Games Workshop has revealed a beautiful diorama that’ll soon be for sale recreating an iconic scene from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
It features Frodo and his companions hiding in a hollow-out tree as that nightmarish Ringwraith above attempts to find them.
The pieces also come apart allowing players to use the Ringwraith in games of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game.
It’s a somewhat focused week in the upcoming pre-order from Games Workshop. You can join the Battle for Middle-Earth with a bunch of releases as well as expand your games of Horus Heresy and Necromunda. See what you’ll be able to pre-order below!
The Lord of The Rings Battle of Osgiliath is a brand new boxed set pitting the forces of Gondor against the forces of Mordor. They said it was coming in June and Games Workshop is starting things early with an extended pre-order launch for Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness. The new “core” game launches this coming Saturday with a load of releases to go with it.
Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – The Age of Darkness launches with a box set packed with everything you need to start. It’ll be available in English, French, and German. Within the box, you get 54 plastic miniatures, enough for two forces or one giant one. It includes 2 Legion Praetors, 10 Cataphractii Terminators, 40 highly customizable Tactical Space Marines in Mk VI power armor, one Contemptor Dreadnought, and one Spartan Assault Tank. All the miniatures except the Terminators are new models.
Also features is a 336-page hardback rulebook, 36-page construction guide, introductory army lists, and two four-page rules reference sheets.
There’s also 20 six-sided dice, two blast templates, one flame template, two classic red plastic measuring sticks, and a transfer sheet.

The chieftain of the Beornings Grimbeorn has been revealed. Not only is he handy with an axe but can also change into a bear!
Joining him are the Beornings who can handle defending their homelands from invaders. You’ll be able to make yours unique with alternate heads and they can be armed with great bows or hand-and-a-half axes!
After weeks of teasing, the Tyranids are coming! The release of the army is the highlight for Games Workshop’s pre-orders next week.
You’ll need to get the new Codex: Tyranids which features all of the updated rules you’ll need to build your swarm. The book features 128-pages and is available in a regular and Collector’s Edition.
With a new codex comes a new miniature in the Parasite of Mortex. The bat-winged horror attacks the enemy with its razor-sharp claws but it’s the ovipositor tail you need to watch out for.
If you need a quick way to build your force, there’s the Combat Patrol: Tyranids. The box features 36 Termagants, a Hive Tyrant, three Tyranid Warriors, and three Ripper Swarms for about 25 Power Level’s worth of miniatures.
