Battleforces Highlight Games Workshops Pre-Orders for Next Week

Games Workshop has revealed this year’s new battle box releases and they’ll soon be available for order! There are four Battleforces for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

Nothing says Christmas like Vampires! The Revenant Legion has everything you need featuring 66 models including a bestial Vengorian Lord, five barded Blood Knights, 20 Deathrattle Skeleton warriors, and 40 Deadwalker Zombies!

The Hedonites of Slaanesh are led by a Shardspeaker and features three Slaangor Fiendbloods, ten Blissbarb archers – plus a lowly homunculus – and five Exalted Seekers which can be built as either Slickblades or Blissbarbs. Then there are ten elite warriors you can build as Mymirdesh Painbringers or frenzied Symbraesh Twinsouls.

The Lumineth Realm-Lords Battleforce features Vanari Auralan Wardens, Bladelords, Dawnriders, and a Starshard Ballista, all led by a Vanari Bannerblade and a Lord Regent, this is the perfect Tyrionic hammer for newly arrived Realm-lords.

Ossiarch Bonereapers is commanded by a Mortisan Boneshaper and a Soulreaper, these immortal debt collectors include 20 Mortek Guard and three Necropolis Stalkers – or three Immortis Guard, if you prefer. A Gothizzar Harvester refashions errant bones into new constructs for the army, while the Mortek Crawler hurls the gift of caskets of screaming souls at besieged enemies.

 There are six Battleforces for Warhammer 40,000 which will be available in December.

Prepare for war with the Space Marines “Shieldbreaker Strike Force” Battleforce. It includes a Captain and his entourage of Bladeguard Veterans lead a balanced heavy infantry force of 10 Intercessors, 10 Assault Intercessors, and five Heavy Intercessors. Meanwhile, a fast and agile Storm Speeder Hailstrike is perfect for flanking enemy forces, or taking down hard targets when built either as the Hammerstrike or Thunderstrike variant.

The Adepta Sororitas “Purgatos Mission” has a Sister Dogmata commanding this force, which is composed of five Celestian Sacrosancts, 10 Battle Sisters, an Immolator armed transport, and a mighty Exorcist tank.

The Adeptus Mechanicus “Omnissiah’s Talon” features Five speedy Pteraxii, five stealthy Ruststalkers, and three Serberys Raiders make up the core of this battleforce, supported by the Ironstrider Ballistarii’s powerful cognis lascannons. Behind them marches a unit of 10 Skitarii Rangers and their Tech-priest Manipulus commander.

The Death Guard “Plaguefester Warband” features a Champion and Icon Bearer leading seven Plague Marines and three Deathshroud Terminators. Three Myphitic Blight-haulers and a Plagueburst Crawler cover their march.

Rise from a slumber with the Necrons “Worldscour Legion”. A Psychomancer cryptek leads the force, with a unit of 10 Necron Warriors and three Scarab Swarms. Also included is a Lokhust Heavy Destroyer, three Ophydian Destroyers, five Flayed Ones, and two huge Canoptek Doomstalkers.

The Orks “Killdakka Warband” features five Nobz, 20 Boyz, and 10 Gretchin with their Runtherd handler, Da Boss on his Deffkilla Wartrike. Also included is a Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun and a Dakkajet.

There’s also some new releases for the Middle-Earth: Strategy Battle Game! Expand your scenery choices with some new items from GW!

The Rohan Stronghold features a village of houses, as well as walls and watchtowers to help build your own Rohan settlement.

Forgeworld has a new release for the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game. King Dáin Ironfoot and Thorin III ‘Stonehelm’ are available now in a two-pack that retails for $33.

The Death Guard Arrives for Pre-Order Next Week Plus Necromunda, Night Lords, Lord of the Rings, and more!

After being delayed, Nurgle‘s chosen, the Death Guard, arrive for Warhammer 40,000 in next week’s pre-order.

Codex: Death Guard has arrived and it’s full of lore, art, and the rules you need to spread death and disease across the battlefield of the 40K universe. You can choose between two editions with the collector’s edition featuring a soft-touch cover and foil blocking.

Also available will be Datacards for the Death Guard to help you focus and keep track of your force.

There’ll also be easier ways to build your forces. A new Combat Patrol will be available. It features Typhus, Herald of Nurgle, Plague Marines, Poxwalkers, and a Biologus Putrifier.

With the old also comes something new with the Lord of Virulence. This leader is protected by Terminator armor and will spread disease with a plague spewer.

You’ll also be able to add to the battlefield with the Miasmic Malignifier. It doesn’t just look on the table, it’ll also help the Contagions of Nurgle spread even further.

You can also show off your allegiance to Nurgle with the Contamination Corps Collection that includes everything above in one package and some signed artwork as well.

But, if you need to spread disease even further, you can expand your force with a box of Poxwalkers.

You can travel from the future to the fantasy world of Middle Earth as well with some releases for the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game. Returning releases include Frodo, Sam, and Gollum, Haldir, Gildor Inglorion and Glorfindel, Black Riders, Dead Marsh Spectres, and Barrow-wights.

Today’s Forge World release is the Gunbad War Bats for the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game. The set features two resin miniatures, each with a 40mm round base. You can find the rules for the War Bats in the Armies of the Hobbit book.

Dwelling in the northern fortress of Gundabad, these bats have been bred solely for war. Flying ahead of Bolg’s army, the War Bats are the first of Bolg’s reinforcements to reach the Battle of the Five Armies. Razor-sharp talons pluck warriors from the field of battle, piercing armour and tearing flesh as they fling their prey to the ground.

Games Workshop Teases “Decadence & Decay”

There’ll be a new online Warhammer Preview on November 21st. Dubbed “Decadence & Decay,” the reveal will feature releases for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40,000, Necromunda, Warhammer Underworlds, and the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game.

There’s some “big reveals” promised and it begins on the Warhammer Community site and on our Twitch stream from 1:45 pm (GMT).

Based on the title “Decadence & Decay” we can probably expect some new Slaanesh, Death Guard, and Nurgle (a Codex for 40K will be out soon) during the event. What else do you think might be revealed? Get your speculation on below!

Return to Middle-earth with Next Week’s Games Workshop Re-release

Games Workshop is taking a bit of a break next week when it comes to pre-orders and will instead have a re-release of some classic Middle-earth kits.

The sets being offered are focused on scenes from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers movie including the epic Battle of Helm’s Deep.

Let’s see which models are returning!

For fans of Good armies, they’ll have Legolas Mounted with Bow, Théoden from Warg Attack, Gamling from Warg Attack, Gimli on Dead Uruk-hai, Ent, Haldir’s Elves with Bows, Haldir’s Elves with Swords, and the Heroes of Helms Deep.

On the Evil side, there’ll be Uruk-hai Scouts, Warg Riders, and the Uruk-hai Battering Ram.

There’s actually no pre-order window for these and they’ll be available right away. There’s a limited number of each so be sure to order quickly as they may sell out fast.
