Monsterpocalypse Gets Five New Releases from Privateer Press

Privateer Press has revealed five new releases for the Monsterpocalypse tabletop game. Check out the new releases below!

BLASTIKUTTER – SUBTERRAN UPRISING MONSTER

The overlords of the Subterran Uprising are capable of melding flesh and metal in ways that only the most diabolical human engineers have ever considered before. Their mad science has peaked in the creation of Blastikutter, a creature that can literally view any challenge from multiple angles. Blastikutter’s two heads each control part of its nervous system and are capable of trading control of various parts of the creature as needed.

Since there has been no attempt at communication from the Subterrans and the language of any creatures captured in battle is indecipherable to humanity’s most gifted linguists, the soldiers who first encounter a new member of this mole-like race usually coin the name used to refer to the creature in the future. Blastikutter’s name came easily enough to his first opponents since one of his arms bears a cruel mechanical cutting implement and the other arm ends in a cannon capable of blasting large holes out of any target.

CONSTRUCTION YARD – MONSTERPOCALYPSE BUILDING

Cranes are a common site in the skylines of cities during the best of times. With the coming of the Monsterpocalypse, they have become even more ubiquitous as rebuilding efforts struggle to keep pace with the destruction. During battles to save a city, these facilities are often called upon to bolster defenses by placing prefab structures to aid the defenders.

The Construction Yard is a new building that any player can add to their city. It specializes in modifications to the map during a game. Its Retrofit action can bring buildings into play as long as you control some suitable real estate, and its Asset Assembly action places the new model type found in Asset blisters, expanding your options when making your attack plans.

CITY ASSETS EXPANSION 1 – MONSTERPOCALYPSE BUILDING

Many cities have invested in numerous defense measures during the Monsterpocalypse. With the installation of emergency barricades, these municipalities hope the sturdy walls are capable of sealing off roads and providing defensive positions for the forces that protect their city. Security bunkers have also been added to the ground floors of many important buildings in an effort to retain control of these structures while ravenous creatures overwhelm the surrounding area.

This blister contains assets that any player can add to the map during a game of Monsterpocalypse using a Construction Yard. Emergency Barricades hinder the movement of ground-based units and offer them some defense against brawl and blast attacks. Security Bunkers help you secure buildings against the disruptive actions of your opponents.

6 Emergency Barricades
2 Security Bunkers

CITY ASSETS EXPANSION 2 – MONSTERPOCALYPSE BUILDING

In addition to the purely defensive measures cities are installing during the Monsterpocalypse, some have decided to go with offensive options as well. Defense turrets now dot the parks and other open areas of the world’s urban cores, ready to lend their fire against threatening targets. Rapidly deployable deck plates are kept on hand by many emergency response agencies. Able to span waterways and more hazardous terrain to facilitate the evacuation of population centers, these structures are also valued by ground forces trying to position themselves for optimal attacks. Any force looking to fully exploit the power reserves of a region will want to invest in resource extractors. These devices are capable of doubling the output of any resource-gathering operation.

This blister contains assets that any player can add to the map during a game of Monsterpocalypse using a Construction Yard. Defense Turrets are capable of adding firepower to nearby unit attacks, ensuring that important targets are taken care of. Deck Plates cover impassible terrain or hazards, enabling the least-mobile units to go wherever they please on a map. Resource Extractors pull more power out of power zones as long as a unit is there to manage them.

2 Defense Turrets
2 Deck Plates

CITY ASSETS EXPANSION 3 – MONSTERPOCALYPSE BUILDING

Alongside the more mundane defenses being established around the world to protect population centers from the Monsterpocalypse, more economically successful regions are employing higher-tech options. Force field generators produce bubbles of energy capable of turning aside many smaller munitions used in a conflict. Speed boosters are a riskier technology but are still seen as worth it due to their ability to accelerate emergency vehicles toward their destinations. And any force looking to fully exploit the power reserves of a region will want to invest in resource extractors. Force Field Generators project a bubble around themselves, raising the defense of nearby models against blast attacks. Speed Boosters grant models that move over them additional spaces of movement, helping to get slower models into the fight more quickly. Resource Extractors pull more power out of power zones as long as a unit is there to manage them.

Privateer Press Reveals New Releases for Riot Quest, Warmachine, and Monsterpocalypse

NEGATION ANGELS – WARMACHINE CONVERGENCE OF CYRISS UNIT

Meticulously designed and engineered to adhere to Aurora’s divinely inspired vision, the negation angels comprise the archnumen’s personal host. Peerless in their perfection, each angel is inhabited by a fearless and noble soul handpicked by Aurora herself.

NEGATION ANGELS - WARMACHINE CONVERGENCE OF CYRISS UNIT

ARCHNUMEN AURORA – WARMACHINE CONVERGENCE OF CYRISS WARCASTER/UNIT/SOLO

Second only to the Iron Mother in her command of the Convergence of Cyriss, Aurora has been elevated to the rank of archnumen, and with that rise, her battle armor has been reformed to match the archnumen’s increasingly formidable nature. Aurora is joined by her most trusted and beloved lieutenant, Prefect Hypatia, to lead a host of negation angels into battle at the archnumen’s side.

LEVIATHRON – MONSTERPOCALYPSE TRITON MONSTER

Crashing onto the shore like a nightmare from ancient mythology, Leviathron boggles the modern mind. Primitive bony fish have long been established as part of the fossil record, and massive sharks are known to have hunted in ancient oceans, but nothing could have prepared the civilized world for this creature’s arrival. Tides swell in the monster’s presence, perhaps indicating that nature itself fights alongside this brute. Ponderous on land like its fellow sea creatures, this monster bites huge chunks out of its enemies while the armored body of Leviathron seems able to absorb amounts of damage that would fell most of the other giants taking part in the Monsterpocalypse.

LEVIATHRON - MONSTERPOCALYPSE TRITON MONSTER

THE WASTELANDER – RIOT QUEST ROGUE

From beyond the Stormlands comes the Wastelander. He is a ronin efaarit who has traveled to the ruins of western Immoren from the void-cursed nightmare that is the fallen Skorne Empire. The Wastelander cares not about childish ideals such as “good” or “evil”; he will work for anyone and for any reason…if the pay is good. Charging into battle with his massive mekitana, the Wastelander deflects bullets, blades, and bombs back at his assailants before slicing into them and carrying on to the next enemy in his sights.

Privateer Press Brings Back the Monsterpocalypse

Privateer Press has announced that it will be releasing a new hobby miniatures game this fall based on its Monsterpocalypse property, which first appeared as a Collectible Miniatures Game in 2008. The game centers on two or more giant kaiju monsters that brawl, blast, and body-slam each other in a dense destructible urban environment. Alongside these towering monsters, lesser minions, such as powerful tanks, fighter jets, flying saucers, fearsome dinosaurs, and demonic fiends fight to capture important locations and help power their monster to victory.

The game will feature two different Agendas players can choose from when building their armies: the noble Protectors, who want to save the world and the creatures that inhabit it from destruction, or the evil Destroyers, who seek to enslave and destroy the Earth for their own diabolical purposes. Both Agendas feature three different Factions, each with its own unique monsters and units. Players can freely mix and match any models from the Factions within their Agenda when building their army. The game will launch with two different one-player starter sets, one for each of the two Agendas. These starter sets will be expanded by Monster, Unit, and Building packs, which will contain new models for players to use in their games.

The Monsterpocalypse Hobby Miniatures Game represents an updated and streamlined second edition of the original 2008 collectible game’s rules. Additionally, instead of using pre-painted collectible figures to play, the new game’s most noteworthy difference is its use of highly detailed resin and metal hobby miniatures, which players get to assemble before playing. As a hobby game, this upgrade to the Monsterpocalypse experience provides the opportunity for players to customize their armies through painting and modeling them.
