Jasco Games is now UVS Games

UniVersus Collectible Card Game

For over 17 years, Jasco Games has brought fans together to play, share, and enjoy collectible card games. And now, Jasco is UVS Games! Along with the rebrand, the game publisher has also announced new releases for the UniVersus Collectible Card Game.

My Hero Academia and Cowboy Bebop and Trigun Stampede are all coming to the UniVersus Collectible Card Game.

With those new franchises and characters coming to UniVersus, also comes a new type of product to handle them all, introducing the Challenger Series. The Challenger Series: Cowboy Bebop* and Challenger SeriesTrigun Stampede will each feature two character cards, a preconstructed deck ready for tournament play, and a Collector’s Booster Pack of six alt-art foil premium cards. The deck will feature mechanically unique cards only found in the Challenger Series.

Cowboy Bebop, a franchise known to UniVersus players, returns with Spike, Bounty Hunter, and Faye. Vash the Stampede and Nicholas D. Wolfwood from the smash hit TV show Trigun Stampede will join the UniVersus Collectible Card Game system. These iconic franchises have captivated audiences worldwide, and our community will be able to boost or battle existing UniVersus decks or build new ones using cards from the Challenger Series.

UVS Games is just beginning. They recently announced the return of My Hero Academia with a Collectible Card Game Set called My Hero Academia: Jet Burn, which will include fan-favorite character Hawks as well as a new type of collectible card to the UniVersus world: alternate art cards featuring characters from Jet Burn and previous My Hero Academia sets. Jet Burn will be the first release to feature the new UniVersus card logo and card frame, and they have released a first look at Hawks and Hawk’s Feather cards in the set. The My Hero Academia: Jet Burn game set will be available worldwide in time for the holiday season.

*Challenger Series: Cowboy Bebop is only available in North, Central, and South America and is TBD for other regions, more details to come.

Gen Con 2019: Jasco Games Reveals the My Hero Academia Collectible Card Game

Jasco Games is giving gamers from all over the world the first look into the upcoming My Hero Academia Collectible Card Game. The new CCG is scheduled to be released in stores early 2020, but before the official release, Jasco Games will be handing out Demo Decks and hosting Demo Tournaments to kick off the celebration of one of the world’s most exciting anime franchises!

My Hero Academia Collectible Card Game

UniVersus – A game where popular characters from any franchise can face off in card to card combat!

With the launch of the My Hero Academia CCG, Jasco is debuting their new CCG title, “UniVersus”. UniVersus is an update to the UFS game that originally launched in 2006 (and is still going strong today). The new game features a fresh new look, new card backs and improved game play. The basic game mechanics will still follow the Universal Fighting System, however, all cards released in 2020 and after will have the new look and feel of UniVersus, which will allow us greater creative freedom in exploring new mechanics to keep the game fun and will allow us to keep true to the themes and feel of future licenses.

Fans of the Universal Fighting System CCG have been anxiously waiting to hear if My Hero Academia will be compatible in the flagship UFS game. The short answer is, YES! My Hero Academia characters and cards will be fully compatible with existing UFS cards. In addition to this news, the My Hero Academia CCG will ALSO be treated as its own stand-alone CCG with unique organized play, tournament scene, special celebration events and consistent set releases planned out for the next several years. That means fans of My Hero Academia that wish to only play the My Hero Academia CCG AND fans of the flagship game, UFS, will both get to enjoy the new anime title.

The UFS standard environment will remain the same. Official tournaments already require card sleeves which means the new card backs will still be allowed after the release of UniVersus. UFS players, just remember to sleeve your cards in opaque sleeves (not clear/not see through).

Why is Jasco Games introducing “UniVersus” after 13 years of success with UFS?

Jasco Games believes in the fundamental importance of easy entry into our game and a strong grassroots organized play program for fans of our CCG titles. With the launch of UniVersus, new players can easily jump into the world of My Hero Academia and play the highly thematic and Japenese influenced game system created for the world. Players of our Universal Fighting System will also be able to enter UniVersus with no trouble, as it is fully compatible, fully supported and easier to pronounce!
