Warhammer Fest 2023: Age of Sigmar reveals include new Cities of Sigmar and Maw-grunta

Games Workshop‘s Warhammer Fest 2023 had some upcoming releases to show off for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The Cities of Sigmar got more teases with the Freeguild Cavaliers.

These horsemen are fitted with heavy armor and shields and weaponry to smash through the enemy.

The Maw-grunta is a pig like no other for the Orruk Warclans. These hulking beasts are a force of nature. One can easily smash through massed infantry. It’s big enough to have two Orruks riding side-saddled and equipped with massive hooked blades.

Both units will be leading the Dawnbringer Crusaders, the next major narrative for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

Orruks Come to Shadespire

Announced at NOVA Open, the Orruks are coming to the cursed City of Mirrors. The latest warband announced for Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire, Ironskull’s Boyz, are here to conquer with brute force and a little Orruk kunnin’. The greenskins are representing the forces of Destruction and part of the first wave of Shadespire warbands. They’ll be released soon after the game itself – which will be supported by its own dedicated website – later this year.

These new Shadespire warbands, Orruks included, will eventually get full Warhammer Age of Sigmar Warscrolls (once they escape from the City of Mirrors, of course).

We played Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire at Gen Con 2017 and will have our review tomorrow right here on Board Game Today!
