The highly anticipated Pokémon Trading Card Game: Celebrations expansion, which commemorates 25 years of Pokémon, has begun releasing at participating retailers around the world. Available in nine different products, Celebrations features fan-favorite Pokémon, card artwork, and gameplay mechanics spanning the history of the Pokémon TCG.
Celebrations also introduces a specially designed Classic Collection of 25 cards that are close remakes of iconic cards from the franchise, such as Base Set Charizard, Umbreon ☆, and Tapu Lele-GX. Furthermore, many Celebrations products contain promo cards that combine recently discovered Pokémon with popular mechanics from previous sets, such as Light Pokémon, Delta Species (δ) Pokémon, and Pokémon Star (☆).
Pokémon TCG: V Battle Decks Featuring Rayquaza V and Noivern V Released
Trainers can now pick up new V Battle Decks showcasing Rayquaza V and Noivern V that make it easy and fun to learn how to play the Pokémon TCG. Each V Battle Deck provides everything needed to play the Pokémon TCG, including a standard 60-card deck, how-to-play guides, and accessories. Also available is the V Battle Deck—Rayquaza vs. Noivern bundle version, which includes two ready-to-play decks, accessories, and eight additional Trainer cards.
The Pokémon Company International has unveiledPokémon TCG Live, a new app that allows Trainers to enjoy the Pokémon Trading Card Game in an updated digital format. Releasing as a free-to-play game, Pokémon TCG Live also marks the first time that the Pokémon Trading Card Game will be playable on smartphones, in addition to tablets, PCs, and Macs.
The announcement comes as The Pokémon Company International continues its yearlong celebration of the brand’s 25th anniversary by engaging fans with innovative Pokémon experiences and products.
Pokémon TCG Live is designed to be easy for beginners to learn how to play the game, while offering fresh challenges for existing players to improve and test their skills. Players will be able to enjoy some of their favorite Pokémon Trading Card Game activities, including building decks and battling other Trainers around the world. They will also be able to tailor their experience with customizable avatars and Pokémon Trading Card Game accessories, participate in daily quests, and more. In addition, Pokémon TCG Live will continue to be updated with new content and features following launch.
Pokémon TCG Live will be coming soon to supported iOS and Android devices, as well as PCs and Macs via Pokemon.com. Trainers looking to preview the game prior to broad availability will be able to participate in the mobile soft launch in Canada and the global open beta for PCs and Macs later this year.

The new set, available at retailers around the world, introduces the King Pokémon Calyrex as a Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX in both Ice Rider and Shadow Rider forms, alongside Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Galarian Moltres, and more.

Each box contains four Sword & Shield—Chilling Reign booster packs; a 23-card Evolution pack featuring key cards from current and prior sets, including one of four alternate-art promo cards; and a deck-building tip sheet.
The winners of the 2021 Toy of the Year have been revealed by The Toy Association. The virtual event is the 21st year for the awards. Awards were handed out in 16 categories, including “Game of the Year.” Pokémon Trading Card Game Battle Academy won the category beating the competition in battle.

ThePokémon Company International has announced Top Deck Academy. The Academy is a new weekly video series on the Pokémon Twitch and YouTube channels that will help Trainers of all experience levels learn more about playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
Featuring Pokémon TCG experts who have been playing and commenting on matches for years, the series will help Trainers improve their game by providing tips and tricks on deck-building, winning strategies, and more.
Top Deck Academy will premiere on January 28 around 2 p.m. PST, with new episodes streaming every Thursday.
The Pokémon Company International has announced the new Battle Styles gameplay mechanic for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Inspired by thePokémon Sword and Pokémon Shieldvideo games, Battle Styles consist of Single Strike Style, which delivers powerful, hard-hitting attacks that can Knock Out an opponent in a single blow, and Rapid Strike Style, which uses sneaky, technical attacks that allow a player to attack their opponent when least expected.
Any Pokémon in the Pokémon TCG can have a Battle Style, with Single Strike cards decorated with a hint of red and Rapid Strike cards with a hint of blue. In addition, Single Strike and Rapid Strike cards are available as Trainer and Energy cards, which tend to assist Pokémon of that particular Battle Style and allow players to build a Single Strike or Rapid Strike deck.
Trainers will be able to collect, trade, and play with Battle Style cards—such as Single Strike Urshifu V, Rapid Strike Urshifu V, Single Strike Tyranitar V, and Rapid Strike Empoleon V—in the new Sword & Shield—Battle Styles expansion from The Pokémon Company International. In addition, Trainers can look forward to seeing Single Strike Urshifu VMAX and Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX in their Gigantamax forms, as seen in The Isle of Armor expansion for the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games.

The Pokémon Company International announced it will release a special expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Shining Fates, available around the world beginning February 19, 2021.
Inspired by the hugely popular Pokémon TCG: Hidden Fates expansion released in 2019, Shining Fates will feature over 100 Shiny Pokémon on beautiful etched cards, including nine Shiny Pokémon V and seven Shiny Pokémon VMAX like the highly collectible Shiny Charizard in its Gigantamax form.
The expansion also introduces three more Amazing Pokémon, each featuring a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon illustrated with vividly rainbow backgrounds that extend outside of the frame. Plus, with a total of more than 30 Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, Trainers will be able to play with fan-favorite competitive Pokémon TCG cards from the Sword & Shield Series.

The Pokémon Company International teased its upcoming 25th anniversary celebration for the Pokémon brand during the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. A troupe of Pikachu danced to the original and iconic Pokémon theme song in New York’s Herald Square. The electrifying performance ended with Pokémon Trainers unfurling a massive banner revealing the official logo for the celebration. This year also marked the 20th consecutive year in which a giant Pikachu balloon floated among Manhattan skyscrapers and delighted fans during the Parade. Sword & Shield—Vivid Voltage also introduces an all-new kind of card called Amazing Pokémon, which features Legendary or Mythical Pokémon illustrated with vividly rainbow backgrounds that extend outside of the frame, as well as foil, etched details and a special rarity symbol. “Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle” Trailer Revealed
The newest animated film based on the beloved Pokémon franchise, Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, has been revealed and is coming to fans around the world in 2021. Trainers can watch the official trailer below.
As the 23rd animated Pokémon film, Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle tells the story of Koko, a young boy raised by Pokémon, and the creation of a new bond between humans and Pokémon. Deep in the jungle, far from any human settlement, is the Forest of Okoya—a Pokémon paradise forbidden to outsiders and protected by a strict code of rules. In this jungle lives Koko, a human boy who has been raised as a Pokémon by the Mythical Pokémon Zarude. Koko has grown up never doubting that he is a Pokémon. But one day, a chance meeting with Ash and Pikachu leaves Koko with his first human friend. Is he truly a Pokémon? Or is he, in fact, a human?
