Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Knights hit the Horus Heresy battlefield, the return of 40K Terrain, and Vampires for Blood Bowl!

There’s a lot on tap next week for pre-orders from Games Workshop. Horus Heresy, terrain for Warhammer 40K, Blood Bowl, and more are coming!

For Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, two new Knights will stride the battlefield in plastic. Bonus, you can use them in Warhammer 40,000 too!

The Cerastus Knight Acheron is a variant of the Knight Cerastus. Armed with a flamestorm cannon and reaper chainfist, it can clear infantry in great gouts of superheated promethium or wide sweeps of its chainblade.

The Cerastus Knight Castigator fights mid-range with its boltcannon and features a warblade when it needs to get in close for melee.

If you need to pack your battlefield, there’s a lot of terrain returning for Made to Order. They’ll be available from September 23rd to October 2nd.

There are six returning terrain kits: the classic Aegis Defence Line, the Imperial Bastion, the Skyshield Landing Pad, the Imperial Bunker, the Imperial Defence Emplacement, and the Imperial Defence Line. They are joined by the Warhammer 40,000 Hero Bases and the Sector Imperialis Large Base Detail Kit.

Blood Bowl does not suck… but now it does with The Drakfang Thirsters! Vampires are back with a new plastic kit featuring 14 players including two Vampire Blitzers, two Vampire Runners, two Vampire Throwers, and eight Thralls. You also get all the usual balls, coins, and tokens – and a transfer sheet.

But, what’s a team without star players?

Vargheist is a Brute, rampaging across the pitch. Strong, fast, frenzied, and wanting to drink blood. It comes from Forge World in resin.

Count Luthor von Drakenborg gets an updated miniature and it’s pretty impressive. He grants an extra reroll and doesn’t need to drink blood, get him from Forge World in resin. He can play for all Sylvanian Spotlight teams.

‘Captain’ Karina von Riesz is new on the pitch and features strength and dexterity. Also from Forge World in resin, she’s perfect for the Sylvanian Spotlight team.

Ivan ‘the Animal’ Deathshroud is reanimated once more for Sylvanian Spotlight teams. Tough and ready to smash your opponent, you can get him from Forge World in resin.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – Battle in Balin’s Tomb is for two players and pits them in a battle to hold the One Ring. It features the Fellowship featuring nin models taking on 12 Goblins of Moria as well as a Cave Troll. It features all the dice and tokens you need to play.

From Black Library is Ciaphas Cain: For the Emperor by Sandy Mitchell. This limited edition version features 2,000 copies signed by the author, fancy binding and ribbons, and an additional short story, Rotten to the Core.

Games Workshop Pre-Order Previews – Death Guard and the Japanese Malignant Plaguecaster, Warhammer Underworlds, and more

It’s a pretty light week for Games Workshop‘s pre-orders next week with some new releases and as well as a much-in-demand reprint.

Highlighting the week are the Space Marine Heroes 2023 – Death Guard. Games Workshop’s “blind box” range continues with the Death Guard featuring seven figures that were previously available as blind boxes but… the much-wanted Malignant Plaguecaster that was only available in Japan is now a part of the box! If you get an entire case of eight boxes you’re guaranteed to get all seven figures or roll the dice and pick them up individually. Each miniature comes with a detailed base and doesn’t require any glue to assemble.

The Warhammer Underworlds: Starter Set allows you to jump into the game with everything you need to play. You get two complete warbands, two decks for the quick-fire Rivals format, and all of the boards, dice, and tokens required.

The new starter set features the Farstriders, veteran Stormcast Eternals armed with powerful boltstorm pistols, and the Sepulchral Guard, undead tomb wardens who overwhelm their foes with sheer numbers. The box includes step-by-step instructions to help guide players through their first games, and it steadily introduces new rules and game mechanics until pure novices become seasoned veterans.

Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Beasts of Chaos, Gloomspite Gitz, and Necromunda, oh my!

Next week’s Games Workshop pre-orders head back to Age of Sigmar with two army releases for the games. Beasts of Chaos and Gloomspite Gitz get some updates and new Battletomes for you to field your armies.

Games Workshop reveals its 2023 Store Anniversary Releases

Every year, Games Workshop celebrates the anniversary of each local store. That includes cool swag available only that year. The company has revealed this year’s two miniatures and more that you’ll be able to get!

The Leagues of Votann represent with Kâhl Yôht Grendok. Yôht Grendok is a young up-and-comer of a Kâhl, the war-leaders of the Leagues. He’s armed with a unique, belt-fed Autoch pattern combi-bolter and a forgewrought plasma sword. The character will also receive Warhammer Legends rules allowing for this particular loadout in open, narrative, or matched play!

Torrk Lennsen, Admiral of The First Fleet commands an airship in the Mortal Realms, a storied and hard-bitten veteran in the Age of Sigmar.
