Space Goat Productions is Launching an Equity Fundraising Campaign

In a move to allow fans to become even more invested in a company they support, Space Goat Productions is launching a fundraising campaign via equity crowdfunder Wefunder.com. Investors will join a community of other investors who seek to help SGP expand their presence in the board game and comic book marketplaces–and own micro shares of the publisher in the process. The fundraising campaign will run for a period of 45 days.

In the announcement Founder and CEO Shon Bury said:

We want to make cool stuff with and for fans. It’s a core tenant of our mission. Equity crowdfunding provides the perfect opportunity to show our fans how sincere we are. We aren’t the first comic-book company to ever offer shares to fans, but we are taking it one step further by allowing anyone to buy a micro share for just $100 and by offering our Kickstarter backers a 20% discount if they elect to buy-in at this funding round. We are also offering a great perk to comic book retailers. That’s how much our crowdfunding community and retail partners mean to us.

On May 2016, thanks to a law called Regulation Crowdfunding, it became legal for everyone to invest small amounts of money in the companies they believe in. Wefunder was created to provide an easy avenue for regular people, not Wall Street experts, to actually become stakeholders with the companies they already support with purchases. This form of funding fit perfectly into the long range plans and overall vision of Space Goat Productions and its CEO Shon Bury. This next step has been in the works for over a year.

Space Goat Announces The Howling Comic and Board Game

Space Goat Productions is partnering with Studiocanal and Creative Licensing to produce a 4-issue comic book miniseries and board game based on the 1981 Joe Dante classic horror film, The Howling.

The comic book series will be written by two-time New York Times best-selling author and former  Blizzard Entertainment lead writer Micky Neilson. Neilson describes the film as his “favorite all-time werewolf film” and one that has led to his obsession with werewolves.

Line art for the comic book series will be provided by industry veteran Jason Johnson, who has worked on fan-favorite books like Wetworks, Gen13, and Knight Rider.

The 4-issue comic book mini-series The Howling: Revenge of the Werewolf Queen is scheduled to be released in Summer 2017, and will take place directly after the events of the first film. The release date of the board game will be announced at a later date.

Evil Dead 2 the Board Game Kickstarter!

Board games are about to get a lot more groovy–and gory–with The Official Evil Dead 2 Board Game. The game is a tile- and miniature-based survival-horror game that has launched on Kickstarter, produced by Space Goat Play (a division of Space Goat Productions) in conjunction with Studiocanal. And it’s Certified Groovy.

The game is designed with both casual and veteran board game fans in mind. Depicting the terrifying and iconic characters, monsters, and locales from Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi cult classic, the official Evil Dead 2 Board Game is the definitive tabletop experience for Evil Dead 2 fans. 2-6 players will work together in 90-120 minute sessions to gather pages of the Ex-Mortis while trying to survive demon attacks, supernatural events, and avoid turning into evil deadites themselves.

The game contains 8 figures which includes Ash, Annie, Jake, Ed, Bobby Jo, and Linda as well as Deadites and, naturally, Ash’s severed hand. The board game also includes custom Evil Dead 2 dice, a fully illustrated tile based board featuring the iconic cabin and the prequel mini-comic.

Space Goat has partnered with Kickstarter veterans Backerkit in order to process and execute the Kickstarter campaign.

The campaign also offers a standard and deluxe edition for donors to select from. The deluxe edition features exclusive figures of Ash Williams, Deadite Henrietta, and a box based on the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, the Book of the Dead. More figures and features will be added as the campaign goes on, as well as retailer pledge levels. Six lucky fans will also get a chance to get their likenesses drawn into either the game or a future Evil Dead 2 comic book. The Kickstarter campaign will run 30 days.
