It’s a refresh of a classic:

With two factions to choose from, the North American Combine, and the Paneuropean Federation – and a whole host of different unit types from Light, Superheavy, and Missile Tanks, G.E.V.s, Infantry, Marines, Howitzers, all the way to Ogres (Mark I to Mark VI), you’ll be able to play your way, a different way, every time.

Everlasting
Ogre’s gameplay has withstood the test of time for over forty years since it was first released on tabletop, and then more recently on PC.

Steve Jackson Games and Paizo Inc. announce Munchkin Starfinder

Gamers loved Munchkin Pathfinder, so Steve Jackson Games and Paizo Inc. are taking it to the stars! Paizo recently launched the Starfinder Roleplaying Game on August 17th at GenCon. The Core Rulebook sold out in just 6 hours, selling more copies in the four days of the convention than in the history of Paizo’s attendance. And now, Starfinder is the basis for a new Munchkin game.

Munchkin Starfinder launches on Kickstarter on October 23. The 10-day project will fund both the 168-card core game and an expansion.

Munchkin Starfinder will include new classes and races taken from the Starfinder Roleplaying Game. The game has more classes and races than any Munchkin set yet. Players have over a dozen new roles to choose from.

Howard Tayler, known for his webcomic Schlock Mercenary and his popular podcast Writing Excuses, illustrated both the core game and expansion.

Munchkin Pathfinder debuted in 2013 and has become one of the most popular Munchkin games, spawning several expansions and accessories, including Munchkin Pathfinder: TrulyGobnoxious and Munchkin Pathfinder 2 – Guns and Razzes.

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is one of the world’s best-selling fantasy roleplaying games, in the true spirit of the classic dungeon crawl. The Starfinder Roleplaying Game  is set in the same universe, centuries later – so while Pathfinder monsters are compatible with a Starfinder game, Starfinder features a lot more lasers, as well as artificial intelligence and space travel.

Gamers interested in the project can watch the Steve Jackson Games Kickstarter page for the project’s launch!

Munchkin Comes to Comics with a BOOM!

Pull on your Boots of Butt-Kicking and rev up that Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment because award-winning publisher BOOM! Studios and Steve Jackson Games are delighted to announce an ongoing Munchkin comic book series coming this Fall. The Munchkin series will be based on the worldwide best-selling card game where players travel through the dungeon and kill everything in sight in order to gain the best (and weirdest) weapons and highest levels. It’s a hilarious, fantasy role-playing game-inspired spoof that brings friends together…until you backstab them for their treasure. The partnership between BOOM! Studios and Steve Jackson Games was initiated and brokered by Surge Licensing.

With millions of Munchkin games and accessories sold and tens of millions of monsters slain, Munchkin captures the essence of the dungeon experience…with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff. You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. And what magic items! Don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff of Napalm…or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to the Plutonium Dragon…

Fast and silly, Munchkin can reduce any roleplaying group to hysteria. And, while they’re laughing, you can steal their stuff. The Munchkin card game debuted in 2001 and has since become a worldwide phenomenon. There are now 15 different stand-alone Munchkin card games (all of which can be combined) along with over 20 expansions, plus miniatures, shirts, and much more.

Munchkin #1 will arrive in comic shops this Fall and we now have a comic that goes to the top of our anticipation list.
