In the lead up to ToyFair, USAopoly and Games Workshop have announced plans to develop licensed versions of the critically-acclaimed adventure board game, Talisman.
USAopoly will release two new licensed versions of Talisman in North America and other select regions later this year. This will be the first time a licensed version of the game will be available. The new partnership grants USAopoly international rights to distribute co-branded renditions of the “Magical Quest Game” via distributors, online marketplaces and beyond.
First released in 1983, Talisman has sold millions of copies worldwide. The game’s fourth edition, which was released in 2009, was granted the Ludoteca Ideale Official Selection award.
USAopoly has said that more details will be announced later this year.
This is the latest partnership announced by Games Workshop which has shifted gears in recent years shifting it’s focus and break out from just being a “miniature game” manufacturer. They’ve also announced deals with WizKids and Funko expanding their footprint.
USAopoly has announced another new tabletop game base on Marvel characters. You’ll get to play as your favorite heroes as you battle Thanos in Thanos Rising: Avengers Infinity War. The game is inspired by the upcoming movie.
The game is a cooperative dice and card game that features a 120 mm miniature of Thanos as well as over 190 other game components. In the game you’ll recruit heroes and join forces to defeat Thanos. You’ll need to collect all six Infinity Stones of the Infinity Gauntlet. Each character brings different strengths to your team.
You’ll need to think things through and communicate with other players to defeat the Mad Titan.

The Merc with the Mouth is getting is own game in Deadpool vs The World, an outrageous improvisational adult party game in which players are rewarded for providing their most original—and unsuitable—commentary.
The game follows the popular adult party game formula as players are presented with prompts in “WTF?” cards which feature illustrations depicting Deadpool in a variety of absurd and uncomfortable scenarios.
An appointed “Editor,” aka the judge, then has each person fill in the blank of a “Caption” card they choose, with the goal being to tell a hilarious story behind the given image. The Editor selects the best narrative among the randomized submissions, for which its author collects the WTF? card as recognition for their creativity. The first player to collect five WTF? cards wins.
It’s the formula spawned by Apples to Apples and skyrocketed due to Cards Against Humanity which has since created dozens of similar adult games.
A game can be played in 30-45 minutes.
Deadpool vs The World includes 100 custom illustrated WTF? Cards, six wet-erase markers, and 300 open-ended Caption Cards.
Diamond Comic Distributors has released their top products for January 2018. Dynamite Entertainment‘s Vampirella Tarot Cards Set topped the list.
Wizards of the Coast had three entries on the list with Magic: The Gathering, while WizKids saw success with two slots for their Dice Masters. Hasbro‘s Dropmix Music Game System came in at number 10.
Also of note is Fantasy Flight‘s “Fantasy Flight Games Starter” a starter set of games for shops to quickly stock up on the publisher’s games. It could signal numerous comic shops branching out into gaming.
While mainly a comic distributor, the company also does sell games. Below are the top ten items. For the full breakdown of comics, games, and toys, check out our sister site Graphic Policy.
