Adepticon 2023: Para Bellum announces W’adrhŭn Summer for Conquest

At Adepticon 2023, Para Bellum Wargames announced W’adrhŭn Summer (or Winter for their Southern Hemisphere friends) for Conquest. Between May and September, Conquest will bring forth some incredible releases for those who love W’adrhŭn.

May is the place to start your Path of Conquest with the W’adrhŭn. This Matriarchal society brings the dinosaurs, with great fighters and a truly aggressive play style. A robust 1 player starter ready to play a game of First Blood or The Last Argument of Kings. This W’adrhŭn set is loaded with a complete stand of 12 Blooded and Slingers, a set of 18 Hunting Pack Dinos, a set of 3 Raptor Riders, and the Predator character. Each starter set will have a very thorough First Blood army as well as a great beginning set to play a game of Last Argument of Kings. Included in this set are BOTH rulebooks for First Blood II and TLAOK II.

And now to expand your 1 player starter further…..

June will bring forth the long-awaited Chosen of Conquest, a fantastic infantry set of uniquely posed W’adrhŭn fighters with a whole new look. These 12  W’adrhŭhn are aggressive fighters with style.

Following the Chosen of Conquest, there will be DINOS – lots of DINOS! Para Bellum’s Artisan Series turns its eyes on a new Mounted Chieftain resin sculpture. You can’t have W’adrhun without dinos! The release of the Brood of Omgorah saw many characters getting a mounted option through it. However, with the upcoming release of the beautiful Thunder Riders their Chieftain will be able to join their thunderous charge. Gearing the Chieftain to 11 gaining Brutal Impact, Linebreaker, and Unstoppable no enemy line will be able to withstand the might of this W’adrhun goodness! A completely new look that we will unveil a little later to keep a little mystery!

The Thunder Riders bring a Ceratopsian look to this army in a very exciting way. This plastic brute set will be dynamic, following the tradition of the top-selling Raptor Riders. These stylized Ceratops figures will look great on tables – especially against the Minotaurs from our recently released City States faction. It is like a bit of evolution played out on your table.

And the dog days of summer will come with the anticipated release of BOTH the Tontorr and a surprise with the Drum Beast. These are two separate MONSTERS of the table. Each with unique play style and a special crew to ride and hang from as they fight off advancing armies. We mean MONSTERS – even larger than our Apex Predator, and they each come with three unique crew members. As a separate item, there will be a special Scion rider alt sculpt for the Drum Beast, and the Tontorr will have a special Chieftain rider alt sculpt available separately. (note Drum Beast crew is not pictured)

There will be a pre-sell campaign on all of these starting in Late May, with exclusive offers for those who pre-purchase the W’adrhŭn items from their favorite FLGS or through our e-shop. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting opportunity!

Para Bellum reveals The W’adrhŭn Chieftain for Conquest

The W’adrhŭn Chieftain

While civil divisions and rule by council might be all well and good for the day-to-day rule of a village, the Ukunfazane was well aware that her fractious children would need a strong hand to hold the tiller when they marched to war. Thus was the position of the Chieftain born: Elected from amongst the oldest and canniest of W’adrhŭn warriors and standing outside the village hierarchy, Chieftains wield power only within the confines of a military raid or campaign, but there their will authority is absolute.

Para Bellum reveals the W’adrhŭn Hunting Pack

Para Bellum Games, publisher of fantasy Mass Combat Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and the Narrative Skirmish ruleset Conquest: First Blood, is unleashing a swarm of miniatures in a single regiment’s release! The W’adrhŭn faction, which tackles the orc archetype in an awe-inspiring dino-riding concept, will see the “Hunting Pack” join their forces, a regiment of multitudes of smaller-sized dinosaurs standing in place of a medium-sized, cavalry regiment. The result is a threatening throng of bloodthirsty little jaws rushing to meet the enemy!

In a stark contrast to other dinosaur releases of the faction, the Hunting Pack proves that not all beasts employed by the W’adrhun are hulking monstrosities that dominate the battlefield. The Hunting Packs of the “uzibukhali” (smart claw) underline just how menacing small critters can be, when what dominates their physique are alarmingly large open jaws. Adding a light, mainstay cavalry unit to the arsenal of W’adrhŭn warlords, while providing a wide canvas to explore different color schemes and variations of a theme to eager hobbyists, the Hunting Pack is bound to bring life to the table and spread fear on the battlefield!

The Hunting is available on Pre-Order and will hit the shelves of your local FLGS in mid June of 2022 with an MSRP of 49.99/47.99 USD/EU. Each box will have 18 plastic dinosaurs, on 3 brute/cavalry bases to create an awesome affect on tables, and create real value for the gamer and hobbyist alike.

ParaBellum Reveals the W’adrhŭn Founders Exclusive, The Brood of Omgorah from Michael Kontraros

Para Bellum Wargames has revealed the first W’adrhŭn release in their limited edition “Founder’s Exclusive” series. Sporting from Dioramas to special rules depictions on the field, the “Founder’s Exclusive” series of Conquest raises the level of what is possible in a miniature wargame. Sculpted by Michael Kontraros, the 2022 W’adrhŭn Founder’s Exclusive – Brood of Omgorah – depicts a Character with the special Weapon “Brood of Omgorah” chosen. Already fearsome presences on the field, the ferocious W’adrhŭn characters become a terrible tool in the hands of any capable Warlord, once on the back of such a terrifying beast!

The Brood of Omgorah can be used to depict three different W’adrhŭn Characters – the Chieftain, Matriarch Queen and Predator – with the “Brood of Omgorah” Special Rule, turning this stunning, unique model into an incredibly valuable addition to one’s army. Even if they would lose their retinues, the Characters turn into Light Cavalry entries, with appropriate special rules to boot.

With the Brood of Omgorah, the enemies of the W’adrhŭn won’t be able to decide if they are terrified by its fearsome might or enthralled by the sculpt that eyes them menacingly!

Sequentially numbered to four hundred (400), only three hundred and sixty (360) of the pieces will be available for sale. The other forty (40) will be offered as prize support in 2022, making them a spectacular prize worth 124.99/114.99 USD/EU! These will be available in participating FLGS, and will ship to consumers ordering from our EShop at the end of March, as well as debuting at our booths at GAMA and for sale at Adepticon!

The Apex Predator is here for Para Bellum’s Conquest

When the Abhoreth Spire fell to the Dweghom advance, it was not only the W’adrhun who were released, millennia upon millennia of predatory and dangerous creatures, dormant fodder for the twisted Spire experiments, were released as well. Of all those countless creatures, none has thrived like the Apex Predator. This monstrous beast has been harnessed by the W’adrhun as a living engine of destruction, lending its primal savagery to that of the W’adrhun forces.

The Apex Predator kit also includes an alternative head for the Apex Predator and a rider, an alt sculpt of the Predator character. It’s available to pre-order now.

The W’adrhŭn Warbred Will Help Crush Your Opponents in Conquest

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed their latest faction’s new release: the much anticipated Warbred!

The Warbred are bigger, stronger, and tougher than their brethren; throwbacks to the earlier generations of W’adrhŭn that the Spires had sought to breed. Complications during childbirth, leading to unacceptable attrition among breeding females, led to the scrapping of this design, but clearly their efforts were not entirely successful.

The statistics and rules of the unit can already be found on the free online Army Builder provided by Para Bellum, with integrated army building rules for both games of Conquest. The Warbred will be coming to your friendly local gaming store the first week of June!

Retailing for $€45 for the set, it’s available at your FLGS, Game Nerdz, Miniature Market, or the Conquest EShop.

The W’adrhŭn Matriarch Queen is ready to rule in Para Bellum’s Conquest

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed their latest faction’s new character. The Matriarch Queen of the W’adrhŭn is joining the fray, in all her majestic glory!

The young W’adrhŭn race naturally prizes life giving females in their society – but they do not limit them to any one role. Those females who eschew these roles and chose, rather, to follow the example of their living goddess, become peerless warriors and leaders. They have earned every ounce of respect from their warriors and every iota of fear from their enemies through sheer talent and application. This is reflected on the tabletop, with the Matriarch Queen Character inspiring her allies, even to the point they fight to their last breath, while helping reinforcements arrive on their field faster and more efficiently.

Releasing to fans the first week of June, the Matriarch Queen will be a prized Character for all W’adrhŭn commanders, while her model will steal the hearts of all who gaze upon it… quite literally as she brutally holds an opponent’s heart in her palm.

Para Bellum Wargames has released over 40 new items so far in 2021 for Conquest, steadily growing the game and its world.

The Old Dominion is Coming to Conquest

Para Bellum Wargames, the developer and publisher of the fantasy Regimental Miniature Wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and Skirmish system Conquest: First Blood, revealed the decision the Conquest Community reached on its “Project 6” event through the Living World platform. The event had five rounds of voting, based on constantly released information about three candidate factions: the Weavers – a twisted variation of the fantasy archetype of wood-elves; the City States – a fantasy technomantic faction inspired by Ancient Greece; and the Old DominionConquest’s take on the undead archetype. With a dominant lead, the Old Dominion was the decisive winner of the vote.

The winner, the Old Dominion, is Conquest’s take on the undead-archetype, with Byzantine and Roman influences in their design. Spawned by the amalgamation of Hazlia, humanity’s fallen god of old, with the Horseman Death, the undead of the Old Dominion are neither infinite in number nor mindless creations. Fueled by the Will of Hazlia, his faithful revel in their un-life, plotting to convert their living descendants to the one, true faith of their Un-God. Reflecting the lore in the game, the Old Dominion is expected to be an elite-type army on the table, with individuals gaining strength as the army’s numbers diminish and Hazlia’s Will is more and more concentrated and focused.

Coming in Q1 2022, the Old Dominion will be the sixth faction of Conquest, following the dinosaur-riding W’adrhŭn (the fifth faction) shipping next month!
