It’s a Packed Pre-Order Release Week with Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Underworlds, Blood Bowl, and Lord of the Rings

Games Workshop has taken a few weeks off for new releases but are back with a week packed with releases that will make the wallet hurt. Check out below for everything you can get starting today.

Expand your Drukhari and Adepta Sororitas with the Piety and Pain box. The campaign box features both armies along with a 32-page campaign book featuring datasheets, missions, Crusade rules, and Theatre of War rules for urban areas.

The Adepta Sororitas army includes five heavy-weapon toting Retributors with a pair of Armorium Cherubs, a heavily armoured Immolator, and a Palatine – a new hero with head and weapons options.

The Drukhari force is a swift Wych Cult warband led by the legendary duellist Lelith Hesperax. The stunning new plastic model of this beloved character is joined by ten Wyches, five winged Scourges, and a Venom.

You’ll be able to take advantage of the new codex for the Drukhari which allows you to use your Kabals, Wych Cults, and Haemoculus Covens. It’s everything you need to play. It comes in a regular and collector’s edition.

Expand your forces with the Combat Patrol: Drukhari. The box set features 18 plastic models that’s themed around the Kabals. It features an Archon leading 10 Kabalite Warriors and five Incubi into battle with a Raider and Ravager.

Also out for Warhammer 40,000 is The Book of Rust, the first act in the War Zone Charadon series.

This campaign book tells the story of the Death Guard invasion of the Charadon sector, home to the vital forge world Metalica. Led by Typhus himself, the followers of Nurgle swarm across the sector, with the Imperium’s defenders standing against them and the piratical Drukhari taking advantage of the anarchy to plunder and pillage.

It features three codex supplements, three armies of Renown, and help to bring together games in a narrative. There’s a regular and collector’s edition.

The Book of Rust

Crusade Mission Pack: Plague Purge adds rules for Crusade games. Designed to work with the rules in The Book of Rust, this expansion includes 24 Crusade missions – six for each game size – along with rules for playing Plague Purge Crusades and a suite of Agendas, Requisitions, and Stratagems. It also includes the basic rules for Warhammer 40,000, making it a handy reference guide while you play.

The Seraphon debuts in Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm with the Starblood Stalkers. The warband mixes strong and agile fighters.

Expand your games of Blood Bowl with a new field, team card pack, and dice and with a Halfling theme.

Merry and Pippin and Treebeard enter the battle for the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game. It’s the largest kit for the game in years.

Middle-earth fans can also grab a dice set themed around the Ents of Fangorn Forest.

Black Library also has a lot of releases for those who want to spend some time reading. Dan Abnett‘s Ravenor Returned gets a limited edition release. Silent Hunters is a new tale of the vicious Carcharodons Space Marines written by Edoardo Albert. Blood of the Emperor is an anthology of six stories from some of your favorite authors. Finally, Josh ReynoldsManflayer comes to paperback.

Dark Angels, Space Marines, Khagra’s Ravagers, Blood Bowl, and More Come to Games Workshop’s Pre-Orders Next Week

Next Sunday, the sons of the Lion make their Warhammer 40,000 9th Edition debut. With the new Dark Angels companion to Codex: Space Marines, they’ll once again be able to take up their search for the Fallen once more.

The new Codex Supplement: Dark Angels will be available for pre-order next weekend. It features datasheets, Warlord Traits, Relics, psychic discipline, as well as Crusade campaign rules.

But what about expanding your force? The Combat Patrol: Dark Angels has you covered. It features a Primaris Chaplain, Redemptor Dreadnought, Inceptors, and Intercessors. The force has a Power Level of around 25 and a solid way to get a start.

There’s also new reinforcements for Space Marine forces in general!

The Storm Speeder is coming and can be assembled into three variants. You can build the anti-infantry Hailstrike, the armour-melting Hammerstrike, and the warhead-launching Thunderstrike.

A multipart kit of Bladeguard Veterans delivers three elite Space Marines, each with master-crafted power swords, storm shields, and heavy bolt pistols.

If you need some tank-busting power, the Primaris Eradicators are coming as well. Featuring reinforced Mark X Gravis armor, they can be equipped with a deadly melta rifle or heavy melta rifle as standard. There’s also a single multi-melta as an optional upgrade.

The Necrons also get some reinforcement with the Psychomancer. They use their knowledge to overload their opponent with a mental onslaught.


A new warband comes to Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm. Khagra’s Ravagers have the ability to desecrate objectives forcing opponents to face the warband in combat to win.

Games Workshop Reveals the Seraphon Warband for Warhammer Underworlds

Meet the Starblood Stalkers, a new warband coming to Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm. The first-ever Seraphon Warband has foreseen danger in Beastgrave and think the mountain may transform into a demigod and wreak havoc.

The Starblood Stalkers features four Skink Hunters, a Saurus Oldblood, and is lead by Kixi-Taka, the Skink Priest.

Kixi-Taka is able to blast opponents of objectives and turn feature tokens agains the the enemy even though they had claimed it.

The warband comes with such cards as Balance the Cosmic Equation which gives ways to score glory. The Hunter’s Steed helps speed up the warband by adding movement. Voidsphere removes persisting gambits and increases damage.

Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm and Warcry Invade Games Workshop’s Pre-Orders Next Week

Descend into Direchasm as the latest season of Warhammer Underworlds goes up for pre-order on December 5. Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm features everything you need to play including two warbands and two read-to-play decks, boards, dice, and tokens. You’ll be able to do battle with Myari’s Purifiers, a band of Lumineth Realm-lords who are trying to calm the mountain to prevent it from fully awakening. The Hedonites of the Dread Pageant are searching for Slaanesh but have found enjoyment from feeding on the mountain’s primal emotions.

There’s also more to customize your games including Order and Chaos themed dice packs, a set of tokens, and a deck box to protect your objective and power cards.

You can also dive further into the world of Direchasm with a short anthology from Black Library. The book features 11 tales of nightmare clashes in the depths of the the mountain. The hardback edition of the anthology also features three power cards to use featuring alternative-art of cards from the Core set.

There are more fantasy clashes ahead for the weekend pre-orders. Warcry gets new books, dice, and sets to do battle with.

You’ll be able to order four brand-new books that dive into the Grand Alliances and their warriors. Each includes lists of the leaders, fighters, and monsters available to the factions. They also feature thematic background tables for each warband, and campaigns to help test your skills in battle. You can choose from:

  • Agents of Chaos
  • Bringers of Death
  • Harbingers of Destruction
  • Sentinels of Order

There’ll also be new themed dice for each book in colors for each Grand Alliance.

If you’re looking for Warbands, Games Workshop has you covered with four new releases. The Khainite Shadowstalkers and Scions of the Flame were recently in the Warcry: Catacombs boxed set and are available on their own now.

The Legions of Nagash and Sylvaneth boxes each package Warhammer: Age of Sigmar models for use in Warcry as new warbands.

The Tome of Champions 2020 is a 112-page book with new rules for open, narrative, and match play, including multiplayer pit fights, new fated quests, and challenge battles. There’s also a narrative campaign set in the city of Soroth Kor. The book will be a little delayed in North America and will go on pre-order on December 12th for the US and Canada.

If you’re looking for a good book to curl up with this winter, Black Library has you covered. Ephrael Stern: The Heretic Saint, and the classic Space Wolves graphic novel Lone Wolves gets a new lease of life in a full-color hardback!

And, if you’re looking for something a bit different, Black Library has a new Space Marine Legions pin badge set and Character Cloth Patches. They make great stocking stuffers.

Games Workshop Teases the Future of Warhammer Underworlds and Reveals the Starblood Stalkers

Games Workshop‘s deck-building miniature board game Warhammer Underworlds is getting its third “season” in January 2021 and with it a new starter box, Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm. GW has already revealed one new warband for the new season which will feature new cards, new mechanics, and new models.

A road map has been revealed which includes six new warbands that’ll be joining the game in the first half of 2021. We’ll find out more of what’s to come on the first Friday of the month which will look ahead at the new releases, their models, cards, and new mechanics.

And we’ve gotten some hints of what to expect.

During the latest previews, GW revealed Khagra’s Ravagers. The new warband is lead by two sisters. We also have a look at a card coming with the set, Power Reclaimed. That will be out in January.

In February, we’re upping the scales with the Starblood Stalkers and its first fighter, Kixi Taka. The figure is an intriguing one with a mysterious sphere that’s teased as having “major ramifications for Direchasm”.

A new season of Warhammer Underworlds will be released in a few weeks. We got a look at one of the new warband expansions for the new season, Direchasm, with Khagra’s Ravagers. The new warband was revealed during Games Workshop‘s online preview.

The Slaves to Darkness warband is led by a pair of sisters. One’s a warrior and the other a wizard.

The next season of Warhammer Underworlds has been revealed. During Games Workshop‘s online preview, the game company debuted Warhammer Underworlds: Direchasm.

Direchasm features new warbands, new cards, and new Primacy and Hunger rules. The new Primacy and Hunger mechanics allow you to build up bonuses, and the game rules have also been refined and streamlined even further. It’ll be a fresh challenge for players.

New to Warhammer Underworlds are the Lumineth Realm-lords – Myari’s Purifiers. The warband features four strong fighters each with their own strengths including magic, ranged attacks, and two different styles of melee.

They’ll be going against the Dread Pageant. These followers of Slaanesh also feature four fighters each with their own play styles. Their deck features ways to manipulate your own fighters and the enemy! They’ll also inspire when they inflict and receive wounds!
