Games Workshop Pre-Order Preview: Arks of Omen begins with new 40K Battleforces

Games Workshop is kicking off 2023 with a bang! Warhammer 40,000 gets the spotlight with a lot of releases that might shake up the game in the new year.

Arks of Omen begins with its first volume “Abaddon“. The book will be available in standard and collectors’ editions and kicks off a new story. The Despoiler is teaming with the daemon Vashtorr the Arkifane for his latest scheme.

It introduces new rules and missions for Boarding Actions, a new way to play the game.

But, to play a game that’s supposed to take place on a spaceship, you’ll need a board to play on. The Boarding Actions Terrain Set allows you to do that quickly. It features two double-sided game boards and 68 pieces of modular terrain.

If larger games are your thing, Chapter Approved: Arks of Omen: Grand Tournament Mission Pack will be available. It’s the complete guide to matched play for the first half of 2023. It features revised tournament missions, new and updated secondary objectives for every faction, and a brand-new Detachment that gives even more flexibility when building armies.

The Scions of Macragge Battleforce box features two heroes, Intercessors, Hellblasters, and Bladeguard Veterans.

The White Scars Battleforce, Storm of Chogoris, delivers fast attack action with a Primaris Chaplain on a Bike, two squads of Outriders, two Invader ATVs, and Kor’sarro Khan.

New Space Marine Heroes is out and features six different Space Marines to collect in blind bags. It’s a random one you’ll get or buy a box and get all six with two extras! You can paint them as any Chapter and you have a choice of helmeted or bare head when you build them.

It’s not all Space Marines. Show your allegiance to the Black Legion with the Black Legion dice set.

When it comes to Warhammer: The Horus Heresy the Salamanders and Word Bearers get the spotlight. Each gets a Made to Order set with the Salamanders getting five torsos for Mark III armor. The Word Bearers set is designed for Mark IV armor. Both legions get should pads, Mark II and Mark IV for Salamanders and Mark II and Mark III for the Word Bearers.

Blood Bowl gets some releases with the return of two classic characters. Nobbla Blackwart and Scrappa Sorehead are back with two brand-new miniatures to unleash their mayhem on the field. They can play for Badlands Brawl and Underworlds Challenge teams.

Black Library kicks off the year with some releases.

Mortis, book five in the Siege of Terra series arrives. The book by John French sees Titans and their crews step to the forefront of the story.

Also out is a large-scale map reproduction of the one found in the book. Printed on cotton, it measures 596mm x 420mm. It’s secured with a leather cord and metal pendant featuring the sigil of the Titan Legions.

A new tale featuring the Flesh Tearers, Wrath of the Lost, also is being released. Written by Chris Forrester, a force returns to their home world of Cretacia to discover what has happened to their befallen brethren there. It’ll be available in hardback, eBook, and MP3 audiobook.

Games Workshop reveals four new Space Marine Battleforces

Games Workshop has revealed four new ways to quickly build your Space Marine forces with new battleforces. Iron Hands, Salamanders, White Scars, and Ultramarines each are getting sets tailored to their style of play and background.

Each set features upgrade sprues and transfer sheets to help you build your chapter.

The Iron Hands: March of Iron Strike Force features two Redemptor Dreadnoughts, a Primaris Techmarine, Iron Father Feirros, and 10 Intercessors.

Jaghatai Khan is Now Available from Forge World

Two Codexes and One Primarch are Part of Next Week’s Games Workshop Pre-Orders

They said it’d be coming in January but it’s the earlier part of the month as Games Workshop has revealed two codexes will be available for pre-order starting Saturday, January 8th.

Codex: Genestealer Cults allows you to make friends with your many limbs with this new army book. The army is back and updated with their Crossfire ability and new Crusade rules.

The book has two editions, the regular and a limited edition that features a soft-touch cover, printed page edges, and a black ribbon page marker.

The Adeptus Custodes are getting a bit update with Codex: Adeptus Custodes. The new codex features their Sisters of Silence allies creating a whole new intriguing force.

Warhammer Day 2021: The Last Primarch arrives, Jaghatai Khan rolls into the Horus Heresy

Behold, Jaghatai Khan, the mighty Warhawk of Chogoris! The last Primarch finally gets a miniature for the Horus Heresy, and it’s a thing of beauty.

The White Scars Primarch is considered the most skilled swordsman of all the Primarchs. An outsider, he revels in the hunt and features lightning swiftness with a blade.

Bandai Warhammer 40,000 White Scars Intercessor Still Available for Pre-Order

While the pre-order window for the White Scars Intercessor figure from Bandai is closed through Games Workshop, it’s still open directly from Bandai.

Pre-Orders close on May 28 so scramble to get this figure as past figures have shot up in value and are difficult to get.

The figure retails for $100 and features a Bolt Rifle, knife, and optional hands.

Games Workshop and Bandai have revealed a new Made to Order Space Marine Intercessor figure. After the Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, and Salamanders comes… the White Scars!

This warrior features the colors of the Eagle Brotherhood, the White Scars 3rd Company.

The figure will be available for pre-order from the Games Workshop website starting March 27 for one week only.

Qin Xa Joins the Hunt in the Horus Heresy

Forge World is back and up for pre-order is Qin Xa. The Master of the Keshig was frequently described by his Primarch as one of the most formidable warriors of the Legion. This new resin model is highly detailed and comes with a choice of helmeted or bare heads. Unlike many of his White Scars brothers, Qin Xa would march to war clad in a suit of Tartaros-pattern Terminator armor. Armed with a pair of matched Dao blades, known as the Tails of the Dragon, Qin Xa can cut through any traitor that gets in his way. And the final bit of details is his standing atop the ruins of a Contemptor Dreadnought. Qin Xa looks every bit the master of the hunt.

Las Vegas Open 2020: The White Scars’ Qin Xa Revealed Plus New Forge World Rules
