Monopoly: Garbage Pail Kids is Out Now

One person’s trash is another’s treasure and you can play that out the Monopoly: Garbage Pail Kids. This new edition of the classic game is available now.

The game features the classic Garbage Pail Kids look as you buy, sell, and trade your way around the board and collect the whole set of iconic Garbage Pail Kids. In it houses are Garbage Cans, hotels are Dumpsters, Chance Cards are “Never had a Chance” Cards, and Community Chest Cards are “Community Chester” cards.

The game includes includes 6 custom sculpted tokens featuring Zit Goo Tube, Fish Bones, Melting Eyeball, Overflowing Trash Can, Guillotine, and Swirly Dog Poop.

Hasbro Reveals Monopoly: Star Wars The Child Edition

For First Friday leading up to May the 4th, Hasbro revealed a lot of new Star Wars toys, including a new version of Monopoly.

Monopoly: Game of Thrones Gets an All New Edition

Hasbro and HBO join forces to announce the launch of an all new edition of Monopoly: Game of Thrones game. Inspired by the network’s hit series Game of Thrones, Monopoly: Game of Thrones is being rereleased with brand-new features including customized tokens, iconic properties and graphics infused within the game board.

The Monopoly: Game of Thrones Edition game will also now feature an Iron Throne card holder that plays the iconic theme song throughout gameplay. This is the first time ever that a music component has been incorporated into a Monopoly Board.

Monopoly and Game of Thrones fans can set sail to Westeros, with game tokens inspired by the honorary sigils of the Great Houses. Players will travel around the board to buy, sell, and trade iconic locations from the Seven Kingdoms, building castles and holdfasts in their pursuit to rule the Iron Throne.

The Monopoly: Game of Thrones Edition game, designed for fans ages 18 and up, will be available for pre-order today at Walmart, GameStop, and Amazon, for a suggested retail price of $29.99. The game will be available at all major retailers nationwide beginning in January, 2019.

Hasbro Brings Popular Gaming Brands to Oculus Go

Announced at Facebook’s F8 Developer Conference, Hasbro Inc. is working with Oculus to bring Virtual Reality (VR) experiences for Boggle, Trivial Pursuit, and Monopoly to people with Oculus Go, for the first time. The VR games will be accessible in the Oculus Store wherever Oculus Rooms is available for Oculus Go, across 23 countries. The launch of the games is a part of a major update for Oculus Rooms, an Oculus app that allows people to spend time with friends in VR while enjoying social activities like playing games and watching TV. Oculus Go users will be able to play games head-to-head with friends in Oculus Rooms with life-like avatars in fully customizable environments. Boggle will be the first game to launch this June; Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly will be released later this year.

With Oculus Rooms, people can customize their individual rooms with their own photos and personal touches. Once the player’s room is ready, they can invite friends to play games, watch videos, or jump into apps together.

Just like the classic Boggle game that millions of people around the world love to play, with Oculus Go, users can play with friends and family in this new virtual take on the popular 3 minute word search game:

  • Play with up to four people in a real-time game of Boggle
  • Connect letters up, down, diagonally and sideways to make words before opponents
  • Be the player with the most points to win the game before the timer runs out
  • Strengthen word searching skills in solo mode in between matches

Mario Kart Throws a Blue Shell at Monopoly Gamer

Hasbro has a new twist to their Monopoly Gamer with a brand new Mario Kart theme building off of laster year’s hit Monopoly Gamer featuring Mario.

Available now at GameStop and other retailers in June, Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart still has the core Monopoly game at its heart but with some twists.

The game features coins instead of bills and after every time a player passes Go!, they flip a Grand Prix cad which starts a race. Players then can pay coins to enter the race and you roll to see who places where and what prizes they win such as collecting more coins or getting properties.

During your turn, players also roll a Power-Up die along with their move. A Green Shell causes the player in front of you to drop three coins which other players can pick up.

The game ends when the Grand Prix card is drawn which indicates the last race is run. Players total up their points from winning races, buying properties, and collecting coins.

The base game comes with Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad with each hving their own power-up. You can also buy six more power packs, aka new tokens, each with their own power including Bowser, Rosalina, Shy Guy, Metal Mario, Donkey King, and Yoshi.

Futurama Monopoly Unveiled at Comic Con

At Comic-Con, fans can catch a sneak peak of MONOPOLY®: Futurama Collector’s Edition designed by USAopoly and Futurama, on display at Fox Booth #4313. Even if you can’t make it to the show though, here’s a first look at the new game.

This marks the first time that Monopoly gets the Futurama treatment, thrusting the classic board game into the 31st century.
